Ginga Hostel

Belo Horizonte, Brazil

The hostel was very expensive R$200 for the night, it took an hour to check-in even though we were the only ones waiting to check-in. It was completely full because of the world cup and yet they only had one staff member working which was ridiculous, there were only two bathrooms we had to wait an hour just to shower!! They couldn't have cared less, they just wanted the money. The next night we found a 3 star hotel for less money!!

The best hostel in Peru easily!! The owner has created a real backpacker experience, three different rooms to watch videos, table tennis, hammocks, clean rooms and the staff were lovely (if not a little overworked) my only complaint was the shower.......get the hot water sorted!!

The owner sorted out a taxi from the airport, which was very kind of him however I am amazed that this hostel has been voted the best hostel in Peru!! The rooms are very smelly, my mattress was terrible, I did notice that some mattresses had been replaced but mine must have been at least 15 years old! They are not spending a penny on the hostel! The doors don't close and there are bits of tape everywhere keeping things together. The Wifi was so inconsistent that I gave up. A lot of work needed!!

Location is perfect if you want to spend two or three days going round the cinque terre. Magda was wonderful on reception. Rooms are very clean and spacious. My only complaint is a strange breakfast which finishes at 9am sharp! But in all a great stay, thank you Magda!

This hostal was wonderful! It had something for everyone, if you wanted to meet people the common areas very sociable but if you wanted to just relaxe and read a book on your own there is a great patio and the staff were great. M Y only complaint would be the price.

Big and boring hostel, it could have been so much nicer. None of the staff could be bothered and nothing was organised to get the travellers together, it wouldn´t have taken much!!

Rossco Backpackers Hostel

Huge confusion when we arrived, we waited 1 hour to check in after a 12 hour bus ride, staff were very confused and slow, people were leaving and unhappy. It was a really bad start.....................however this is a good place to stay. The fire at night was fun and very sociable and the rooms are clean and the kitchen and breakfast are very good. Grumpy and unresponsive staff really dont help, get your act together Rossco!!

i have come to this backpackers for the last two years and have always had fun. however i visted over the christmas and new year period and it was terrible, it was very expensive and they just didnt care. also at least 2 of the recent 100% ratings are written by staff who work there.........so don´t believe all you read!! i think 70% is a fair mark for this hostel
