Iguassu Eco Hostel, Foz do Iguacu, Brazil

Couldn't be better. Although there are some luxurious private rooms, most people stayed in the dorms, giving it a real hostel feel, although the grounds were better than many expensive hotels. The pool was perfectly maintained, nice restaurant as well as good kitchen facilities. The best internet facilities I have encountered in Brazil, with separate wifi for the main building and pool/bar areas, as well as two computers for guest use. Helpful , friendly staff.

A wonderful location - you can swim in the river directly in front of the hostel. The high cost reflects the fact that transport takes half a day, and the price includes a minimum of two activities, such as boat trips, wildlife walks, horse-riding and fishing, per day. It therefore is a way of doing a Pantanal trip at half the going rate. The staff would have a higher rating if carefully concealed money had not been stolen from my rucksack during the day. (no lockers).

Only spent a few hours here, as I arrived late, and arranged a Pantanal trip the next morning, but everything seemed perfect. I was very grateful to the friendly man on reception who was happy to sell me beers when I arrived at 2.00 in the morning ! I had a private room for the same cost as a dorm, making it very good value.

Not really a hostel, a pousada with shared family rooms, but still an excellent place to stay with a well maintained pool. There were no lockers, but I didn't really feel the need for them. Two people lost clothes from an outside washing line, and I lost a container from the kitchen, but this was probably due to misunderstandings rather than dishonest.y. Staff were friendly but only spoke Portuguese. The kitchen was mainly used by staff, making it difficult to find an opportunity to cook.

An interesting and unusual place to stay ! The house is full of things from around the 1950's , including still functional vinyl record players. There is a pleasant garden for breakfast, which attracts many birds, as well as being used by the resident dog, cats and hens. Joel is very helpful, and organised an excellent Pantanal tour.

Just the perfect city hostel. Very friendly staff, nice bar,and music, and excellent facilities. In a pleasant location but within walking distance of the city centre, Ibirapuera Park, and local bars and restaurants. Very convenient for the airport bus and metro.

Possibly the best place I have ever stayed. The Forest accommodation is amazing and has its own kitchen, but it is worth visiting the bar/restaurant for its excellent food and locally produced drinks. Jem and the staff are always helpful, and can arrange excursions or hire-cars.

Very convenient for Crown Point beaches and restaurants. The hostel is incredibly spacious, and has excellent facilities. Andrew, the owner, was always friendly and helpful.

This place is absolutely idyllic, with a beautiful setting on a forested hill near Miraflores. The gardens have fruit trees full of parrots, and the pool is very clean. Very good value - the price includes breakfast. The dorm had the best bunks I have ever slept in. Quiet, as no-one can find it. The English directions are incomprehensible (I still don't know what the Old Saltern One is ). It is easy to find however. Just find Av.Miraflores and continue north along it passing under the elevated highway sect
