I was here back a few years ago & booked again because of the reviews... although I forgot I was here already. Don't pay upfront for bfest... just get it when you want it and pay the extra few dollars (local currency). Pretty good.. but you may not make it every morning if you pay in advance. Our cleaning lady really was rude. She was loud, while other girls just came in from partying and were trying to sleep. I told front desk and they were nicer. Okay location. Check out cute cafe by bus stop.
Amazing... even though it does cost more, it is pretty much a good value for what you pay. I would FOR SURE think about extending the 10 am check out though.... that sucks BIG TIME. The place is set up well and everything works out great. I LOVE the location, so for me that is a big plus and why I return to this hostel. The staff also are amazing. I would for sure stay here again... I love the cafes near and enjoy returning to those as well when I am in town.
Love this place. I have been at this hostel now three to four times. First was in '06 around Jazz Fest, right after Katrina. It has been interesting to see the place grow and change. It has a very long history and it is an interesting story. All the people working there are always interesting. I have been in girl's only dorm this time and really liked it. Only problem is the bathroom/shower situation and lack of. Some times there were lines. Love the people here and mood/setting of place!
eh, i loved this place because of the people in my apt. dorm thing. i don't know if i would have loved it so much otherwise. the bathrooms were crap- dirty. like, something would start growing on You also-type dirty. and the maid did not really seem to clean up.. idk. it was okay. free internet was awesome. but whatever.
i really liked this place. i didn't rate it the highest... just because there are better. i already booked this place again... it is in lower harlem... i really liked this area... can walk to the park so easily.. the people living in the area are really nice... found a great little wifi cafe up the street... just good nice people. i really got use to this and when i went downtown and to midtown... i was just sickened by the mass of tourist and the levels of rudeness i encountered.
trust me- this hostel is the place to be! they are gerat here. good scene. pretty cool people all around, all the time. chill and party. so this guy at reception, so great, i almost could have missed my flight today BUT he was soooo helpful! called his friend, who works at the airport, for advise and called a cab. and was just amazing. just amazing. he DID NOT have to do all of this... but he did. and with a smile. i love it. cannot wait to return!!!!
this is the place to stay. free lanudry.. good common area.. good kitchen.. right next door to the supermarket.. great and helpful staff... goodgoodgood!!!
this wasn't as nice at the berlin wombats.. but it was good enough. a lot of party-types.. which was good.. but, i was expecting more, maybe. it was still okay. great location by main train station, which make it great!
this place felt like a resort... i really liked it. more chill then the other one across town by the gate... that is nice to go to for the partying.. but good to come back somewhere nice for sleep and chill time. i really liked this place... felt like i was spending some good money... when i spent very little!! great deal. and they now have wifi!!!
this place, i was worried about it. but holy crap... i hope to soon return to gdansk just because of this place!!! it feels like a home.. but one of those cool homes you WANT to live in! the staff are pretty cool.. helpful and colorful for sure... and they make FREEEEE amazing tasting soup every night for the guest!!! it amazed me. and was yummy! i don't understand why anyone would stay anywhere else.. this place is the place to be in gdansk!
god! i love this place.... second time in about a month of traveling in the more eastern parts of europe... and god, i love this hostel!!!! it really is the best place to find oneself in this amazing city. it may not be sooo center-berlin, but it is a great area... good people.. food stores easy and all that jazz. stay here or be square. and don't be that. weee!
The people at the reception were great. The younger guy was amazing. He helped me with just about everything. Also I left clothes there and couldn't come back to the area to get them and they were going to mail them... so helpyful and nice! The hostel is just outside of the main area, but it is a lovely walk. close to food store and.. just nice. can wash clothes (jsut dont forget when drying them on lines) and kitchen open all night... great place. with FREE wifi.
At first I wasn't sure about this hostel... but luckily I gave it more time and it grew on me!! I left this place hoping to return again soon... the big room doesn't have 30 something rooms.. but 60... but after the shock.. you realize its cool.. and there are lockers in the other room. it was a great place... great kitchen... DONT waste money on the breakfest... just go out.. much cheaper.
this is the place to come if you are in berlin. greeeeat place to meet people... so much interaction and all that jazz. i loved this place soooo much. was here 6 nights and was soooo sad to leave!! safe.. clean (well, had to tell reception to get cleaning lady in once...).. close to u bahn! great little cafe just down the way and yeah: just a lovely place!!!!! go on the pub crawl!!!!
okdoke place... would stay again..great b-fest!
great, lovely place just outside of the city center (just past the meadows).. even if it wasn't right in all the action, it was a great lovely walk to the place... the kitchens were great. the long term people made it feel even more cozy! and they were always fixing great wonderful smelling foods! (made it feel like a home and not just some hostel that takes your money!) great time there!
i cannot say enough about this place, that is ENOUGH about how bad a place this is. the staff, most of them, are mean and could care less about You. or helping you. (most of them.) the location isn't really that great... the kitchen is really small and isnt in the best condition... more so when there are so many people trying to all cook at the same time... i hated this place. the staff really pissed me off and i would have been at another hostel in a better part of town. dont stay here if you can at all possible stay elsewhere.
this is the best hostel i have been at in Paris... there are not many that are very good and this one is by far the best... FREE INTERNET and wifi!!!! the only thing bad is the lock out... but, you know... and you can also control the heat- which is such a lovely thing. most of the staff are pretty helpful and nice. this place is very scenester and you'll love it.
lovely breakfest and pretty great place all around... in a place that is rather more local then a few other parts of the island, which is very cool. overall, pretty good place to stay.
one of the best places i have ever been at while visiting rome!!! (been to a few hostels here and this one is hands down the best!) the staff is nice.. free wifi... rooms are a little cold but it warms up... great place to meet people and always a party. i really enjoyed this place!!!!
eh. this place, eh. once they had your money they didn't give anything about you, really. at least that is how it seemed to me while i was there for about 5 nights or so... and they cleaned the room (6 beds with messy girls) about two times maybe.... it was getting dirty after a while... the people at the front desk were the best- at least with help. it seems all the workers were just there to amuse themselves... they were okay, and it was nice that they washed our dirty dishes... but... the first hostel i was at was MUCH better!
great breakfest, yum! best one offered by any of the london hostels, to be for sure. staff was very helpful and nice... but the place has A LOT going on all the time... student groups and the french babycare thing in the mornings... so it is a happening place! but i liked it better then the other hostel i was at... and wanted to stay here!!! (plus it was so much cheaper...) tip: get the 7 day tube/bus ostyer card with unlimited use for 22 pounds if you are going to be there for a while and riding the tube a lot... that card worked wonders for me and saved me tons!!!
Mimo!!! the greatest cook! good times at this place with free dinners! so many people always taking photos of the building because it is just that beautiful! it feels nice to walk out of a hostel and have people look at you with envy!! you have to cross the little canal bridge to enter and the door (green) only has a little sign that says "fish" and a number.... not so hard to find, but some people had a bit of trouble... great place to stay!! i loved it!!!
pretty good place with free wifi.. good kitchens and all around nice and clean place... it just was a bit further then some of the other hostels (but by no means that far.. about 10 - 15 min walk to historic center). nice showers! haha.
good stuff to be found here. great location and very helpyful staff with info.. loads of it. great common space that is huge and it was sooo very nice to have free internet!! cha-yeah!!
This is a great place to stay in Cairo. During Ramadan they had cooked dinners for us for the breaking of the fast, and it was such a treat to eat with all of them and the people staying at the hostel. The place was nice and the staff were all very helpful. This is the place to stay in Cairo.
The staff here is ever so welcoming and friendly. They go out of their way to help you find what you need. Amir, the manager, will help you find anything you need and can help sort details on the whens, wheres, and hows. Most of the rooms are only a few beds, mainly 2 beds, and big! Good view of the cairo traffic below. Everyone is nice here and this is my second time back to Egypt... and I'm back here! That says something, good!
The bathrooms, eh. Not digging those... and the staff was a little more than moody (they are pretty busy all the time and maybe this is why... but still! they were rude more then a few times to me)... but the location was great! And they have these balconies in the dining area that are just so romantic and cute!! i loved sitting out there for dinner or a little snack. rooms are pretty good with a med. sized locker... little reception/b-fest area... good kitchen to cook in and a good place to hang out up stairs... very good and chill hang out crowd here... the people were all very cool and easy to meet them. good map and a great little bookshelf to exchange or borrow. make sure you BOOK AHEAD! this place turned down a lot of people that didnt reserve while i waited to get my room. OH! and the other bad thing is the whole lock out thing... those are always a bit of a pain.
Not right in the center of it all, but i thought that was a good thing. (tooo many tourist everywhere and it was nice to get away from the main areas and all those people on the walk back to the hostel.) i met some really great people here and the staff was ever so helpful. GREAT breakfest also. i would love to stay here again.
The people there were not very friendly. The guy we delt with at first couldn't speak english at all and this was very, very hard for us to communicate. The coffee was great and yeah, it was ok. but i will stay somewhere else next trip. better luck your stay, mate!
This is the place to be. This place has been one of the best hostels I have been to in a while. The staff will explain details to no end! Carla, one of the main staff peoples, was just wonderful! She knew everyone by their name and it just felt really good to return after a hot day out at the ruins to a place where somebody really greeted you. And made you feel good to be "home." They have a good bfest with huge Nutella jars!! HUGE! It was great. And we were there for the free (and amazing!) pasta night with vino! lovely. that stay in Naples was most def. a treat.
They were very nice and helpful. Willing to go the extra mile to help us out. Good bfest, too! Great deal all around...
the man there was very helpful, but i would have liked to be closer to the water. it was a nice walk to the little beach town and all that IN THE EVENING, but in the daytime... not so much. it was around 40 and up that week, so i would have loved to have a place closer to the water. otherwise the couple were great.
They were super nice here... the staff and ever so helpful. We booked a room that shared the bathroom at first and then after the 6 or so hour train ride we NEEDED aircon, thus we paid the 16 extra for the nicer room with bath and aircon. it had more space and was very cozy. i think the best part was just the great service of the place.... i would tell people to come here for great sleep after busy and hectic athens NON-sleep parting.
great place, great location. good-good people working here that are so very nice and so very helpful. they go out of their way to help you.
