Location and the hostel itself were great, however the concept of trying to join tours only exists at the weekend. I did get some help booking transport (taxis) to nearby national parks. Hostel was nearly completely empty most evenings which made it a bit lonely for a solo traveler.
No hot water but they did at least admit that and gave us breakfast free to make up for it. Dorm room was a little cramped but did the job.
Felt it was slightly lacking in atmosphere as a solo traveler but it gets top marks for location and staff.
Good enough place and central location, just not the best place to meet other travelers when going solo
Had a great time, met some great people and stayed 2 days longer than intended.........
Safe, clean, secure and very good rooms/beds........place was unfortunately very quiet the weekend I went due to being low season.
Couldn't find much fault with the hostel, great place to stay for a few days.........the town however was far too quiet for my liking.
Easy to reach from the airport, small close knit type of place. The town is very small and full of windsurfers and kite surfers so it would probably help if you was one of them. Not bad for a few days.......
Bit of a walk from the nearest tube station but in a nice safe location. Dorm room was a little cramped but that would be my only minor complaint. Liked the pub downstairs at night........
Nice little hostel in a great central location
Nice enough place but a bit hit and miss if you are a solo traveler. Had a great first night but the place seemed deserted on the third.
Great place to stay, bar was good at night......didn't like the fact they had a stag party staying
Good social place, had a great time...............staff were friendly and helpful.....enjoyed the waffles!!!
Great place to stay, safe, clean, secure and social.........good weekend will return again.
Dorm room was cramped not a big problem on it's own but made 10 times worse by having the radiators on full blast every night. Couldn't sleep properly even next to the window with it wide open. Bar downstairs is also open to the public, got threatened by some local drunk the night I arrived, to be fair the security did deal with the problem. Was told on the final night by security to avoid pubs north of the river (Bru bar is "north of the river") Good points were the live music and the pizza
Had a good weekend........nice place........and I like the dog!!!
Got awarded best hostel while I was there and I can't argue much with that.
A good place to stay......can't say much more
Internet access was shockingly slow!!!! however that was the only minor complaint. Everything else was great, location, rooms, showers etc. Got a lengthy list of things to see and do on arrival. The bar area at night was a great spot to meet other travelers.
Yes it is very noisy and has a poor shower/toilets to guests ratio but I knew that anyway before I arrived. Overall not a bad place to stay for a couple of nights. Only complaint has to be the idiot on the door at Belushi's bar who got very aggressive because I didn't have I.D and politely explained to him that I had to show photo I.D to get my key card in the first place. (I'm 35 and going slightly grey by the way).............at least the other one showed a bit of sense and let us in !!!!!!!!!
Feels more like a house with a loads of beds on the top floor but it was a good place to stay for a few days. Social and the staff were most helpful.........
Stayed 4 nights had a good time, went on some good tours also a good place to meet others which is a must if traveling alone.
Great hostel, like the layout and the downstairs bar.
Only here for 2 nights..........should have stayed longer great place
Good social atmosphere for a solo traveler, nice location as well. Bean bags out the front are a bonus!!!!!
Kitchen was a bit overcrowded at times esp straight after breakfast but apart from that it was a great place to stay.
Bit too big and inpersonal but otherwise a good place to stay
Only stayed 1 night and out early the next morning.........seemed good to me
Stayed here for 4 days over new year.........people were great and very laid back.
Great place, handy for the airport,it deserves to be in a lot better place than Keflavik.
Accommodation, food, location and staff were great. The area was a bit too quiet at night as everywhere seems to close by 8:30pm.
The place was full when I arrived. After an hours wait which had about a dozen repeats of 'did you book by phone??'....'no I booked through hostelworld'!!!!!!!' I was transfered to 'Palm garden guest house 2' which was actually the Lakshmi guest house.
Great location just across the road from the old city. The free tea, coffee and internet goes down very well.
Only fault was being next to the noisy main road. Overall however an outstanding place to stay.......
A great help with picking me up from the airport following a late arrival. You get well fed at breakfast and the roof top area is a good place to meet other travellers. A shrine to Bob Marley !!!!!! No being pestered to book tours or buy other products which is a rare thing in Luxor. Don\'t know what the previous comment was about as there have been rooms available all the time I have been here
Arrived having big problems getting my money from the local ATMs but the staff were most helpful. Location not a problem as there is a cheap and regular bus into Dubai from nearby
Good place....if full they put you round the corner which is of a similar quality. Good roof top and a friendly dog!!!
Nice hotel....just make sure you carry a flash light for walking up that alley during powercuts
Spent 18 months of my life on the road in total and have not met a better hostel owner than Jessi
A bit out of Kenting but well serviced by regular bus routes. Nice place to stay
Owner took us bowling on the first day I got there, loads of reading material and information.
Little bit too quiet for my liking but apart from that ticks all the boxes.
Nice place, bit quiet in the low season. Easy to miss the signpost on the mainroad.
Helpful and friendly owner, good location and one of the few real backpacker options on Cebu island...
Good hotel, good location and very secure
Probably the only budget accommodation in Macao. Strange smell coming from somewhere in the dorm room when I first went in that the owner kept trying to blame me for.
Outstanding place, friendly staff, there always seems to be someone cleaning which can only be a good thing. Great wall tour was also good..... Only complaint would be the prices in the bar. 10Y for a coke and 25Y for 2 small beers when you can get a large beer for 3Y in the shop just yards away.
Good place to stay, good location. Heard one story about the owner telling someone who tried to extend their stay the dorm room was booked up when it wasn\'t. This was to try and get them to take a more costly private room.
Nice place to stay....food and drink was overpriced. Should not advertise 24 hour hot shower when it was cold everyday.
Didnt end up staying here so cant comment
Walked around the area for ages and couldnt find it so ended up staying somewhere else
Great place to stay with character. The common room seemed a bit quiet as everyone seemed to have their head buried deep into their laptops, obviously thats not the owners fault
The 4 bunk bed dorm room was a bit cramped and should only have had 3 beds at the most. Watch out for the hole in the floor toilets. Otherwise a good place to stay!!!
Great place to stay friendly staff pity there is not a lot to do in Nanning.
Great place for a solo traveler, in fact its a little bit too social and you could get stuck here for a long time.
One of my favourite hostels, stayed there 4 times now. Only one dorm room so book early
Outstanding place, free internet, big TV, hot showers etc everything a backpacker wants.......just a pity there were so few other people there
Great place...just like being round someones house...bit out the way of the city
The only proper hostel in Apia....bit out the way but otherwise ok
Bit out of the way but a great place. Its like staying round someones house and a good house at that
Nice place but both times I have stayed here the boss has been "out" for hours and I have had to sit around for ages waiting
Typical YHA....nice place
Great place and location....
Typical Base...clean,secure,etc... However if you require more than half a nights sleep don't even think about staying here. Had a big group making a noise outside our room for 2 hours before the management moved them. Also you can hear music from the bar well into the early hours
Has it all....great place to stop
After 4 years its still the best place for meeting other travelers. However it's still untidy and unclean esp the kitchen area. Also they moved all my things out my room after 2 days even though I had paid for 3. It's just as well they only lost my toothbrush and they had another room for me!!!!!
Only stayed one night as it was fully booked......seemed ok to me
Some fat fuzzy haired computer geek in room 106 smelled that bad we had to have the window open at night. Everyone knew who I was on about whenever I mentioned it........people should never have to share a room with a person like that
Outstanding hostel. Location in a residential area lets it down slightly as you can't sit outside after 10:30pm due to previous complaints about noise by people who live nearby...
Great place had a great new years eve there
One of the best hostels in Thailand.
Great place to stay and meet other travellers. Worth the slightly higher cost!!!
Nice place, Nice people but a bit out of town and very little to do at night...
Second time I have been here and would come back again.
Nice place but went in October when it was nearly empty. I hear it gets full and more lively in summer.
Top end of town closer to Ankor Wat. Staff friendly and helpful. Food very good if a little overpriced. Very quiet/little to do at night.....
Outstanding hostel, brand new looking, good tv lounge, everywhere very clean. So new the guidebooks dont list it yet which is why so few people in there....
Nice place...just a pity its a bit out of the way.
Bright new clean and modern. When some friends who were staying on the other side of town saw this place they moved here the next day........
Nice place made very welcome and the food is outstanding. However it is a bit of a trek to get to miri.
Nice setting and walking distance from orang-utan centre. However they take full advantage of being in the middle of nowhere charging double for things like water. No ATMs for miles around but they can do it for a shocking 10% charge!!!!! . There was no internet access during the time I was there so having to make bus trips into sandakan.
A little bit out of town is the only fault with the place. Well worth stopping there!!!
Outstanding place very clean and modern
Lots of guide books give this place a bad name. Its been described as noisy, hot and unsocial. Why!!!! Our stay was great no argument with the rooms. The place is next to a quiet road and the old bloke who works there gave us a free lift to bars around town and back at night.
