Hostel almost felt like a hotel, great security on the doors and our room had room service and mini bar, as well as a large en-suite shower room. Nice computer area and chill out area on top floor. Great!
One of the best hostels in Brazil!! Felt like we were walking into a hotel - great friendly, helpful and smiley staff, lots of computers for use, kitchen and big communal area. Rooms were nice, clean and big but air conditioning should be a standard not an extra. Get discounts off of loads of places in the town which was fantastic!! Defo recommend this hostel, thanks.
Should be better for an HI hostel. Receptionist was friendly enough but didn't give us any information about anything. Kinda felt like we were staying in someones house rather than a large hostel chain. Bugs in the rooms didn't help and rooms weren't the cleanest. Breaky was average.
Bit of a walk from the town but well worth it. Lovely hostel with great chill out area and eating space. Fantastic breakfast with lots of variety and pao de queijo!! Hostel has own travel agency and were very helpful in organising our trip. Defo recommend it.
Great location, really nice rooms, outside space and pool. Breakfast is the best we've had in a hostel in the whole of Brazil, and even though we arrived really early in the morning the manager still offered us breakfast so that was great and well needed after a long journey. Thanks have recommended you to other travellers we've met :)
We love Tirol!!! Gaucho is great and so friendly and trusting, the atmosphere is the hostel was so nice and we met loads of like minded people, had group dinners and all went out together. Love the open plan communal area and all the hammocks is what makes this place great! Thanks :)
Staff couldn't find out booking even tho we had confirmation for hostelworld, but did sort out the problem and gave us a private room in return for the 4 of us - thanks! All the stairs up to the hostel however do tire you out, and there is no real communal area.
Absolutely great in every way! Cheers guys :)
Staff rude and unfriendly, far too many beds crammed into tiny hot rooms. Absolutely no security as front door often left open and dorm rooms aswell, and lockers broken. Small communal area and very dark. Only good thing about this place is the home made cake for the breakfast.
Such a great hostel, photos dont do it justice and dont capture the great atmosphere, sound people, brilliant staff so helpful and its a family run business which is nice. We originally booked for 2 nights and will probably stay for the 4 weeks that we have been to in Rio as we have tried other hostels in Rio and they dont match up. Its right by the metro so easy access to the beach in just a matter on minutes. Nice rooms with individual sockets, lamps, drawers and shelves etc and hairdryers!
This was a nice little hostel, safe neighbourhood. Our door didnt shut on our bedroom which wasnt great but we felt safe there and staff were helpful and friendly. There wasnt much atmosphere but probably because we arrived in the week not in peak season. Close to shops etc and was kept nice and clean, good value for money and a lot better than other hostels weve stayed in Rio.
In general the hostel was really good, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, there were too few bathrooms for the number of ppl, which meant the showers were always cold. The main issue with this hostel was the fact that we got woken up at 10am every day by them playing loud music, then they came into the rooms and made us get up by 10:30 and out of the hostel by 11am so they could clean. Not good and bloody annoying if you only got in at 5am!! We are in Rome after all!!
