a brilliant position right on the beach and the town centre just a short stroll away.It seems a safe and popular little town.Gus the manager is very nice and helpful.Spent 4 nights and really enjoyed it there, nice to getaway from the major cities and just relax.Only thing i would say is to cover yourself in mozzie repellent as the hostel is next to a forest and the beach,i got bitten badly one night but that's my fault for not covering myself in jungle juice.defo recommend this hostel.
wonderful area botafogo, this hostel was charging extortionate rates for dorm beds and people was packed in like sardines.there was just too many people in the hostel, with the wooden flooring and beds piled 3 high, there was no fire extinguishers so the place would be very dangerous if there was `an incident`.safe area so no problem coming back late(or early)and near to the metro and bus lines.i was very disappointed with the hostel to be honest and wouldn't visit this place again, rip off tbh.

breakfast was good and varied, the staff very helpful(fellow travellers).the location right next to the metro station and a couple of blocks from the beach was perfect.airport bus to/from Copacabana palace hotel on the sea-front is 13 reais.very large hostel and they seem to try to get the guests to enjoy evenings out in various locales in rio, defo recommend this place!
I booked a 5 bed dorm, was given a bed in a big area(which had another dorm just off it but inside our unlockable door!)the toilet/shower was being used by both rooms which meant my bed was being hit by the door constantly as all on the 2nd floor used this facility.at least 13 people and more!the water & sewerage gave up the previous day and it all backed up!,i complained 2 the manager and expected to be moved,he just told me to find another bed if i cud.we rowed & he threatenened 2 call the cops
a bit of a thrown together place tbh,has tarpaulin over a gathering area and corrugated plastic roof over a dorm on ground floor, not very good!,taps and bathrooms very basic but then you are paying such a small fee.internet access but extremely slow but that's not their problem just peru.puno is very safe and can be walked around with no hassle.id pay a bit extra and get a better hostel if i was in this city again.
i thought the prices in the bar for food and drink are quite expensive.i was given a bed high up in the top floor which was very quiet and away from the noise from the busy bar.
shud be 6-7 soles from bus station, please shop around for macchu picchu deals,$230 for 1 day trip.train costs 10 soles for locals each way not $100!.ollantaytanbo to aguas calientes.good hostel, nice food and beer, well run.
it just seemed that in the building i stayed that it was being let go somewhat, none of the tv s worked,no internet to use,no changing of bedding/towels.booked a 4 bed dorm but got put in a very small room with a bunkbed.no exaggeration to say u could fill the entire room with a double bed and that would be it.but great location just outside the old city(not actually in it).
perfect venue, right opposite very lively pubs and bar area.not for those wishing a quiet night in!
very convenient for the train/bus station.not to far from river bars or up to old town.staff were very friendly, internet,tv,breakfast.very good place.
the private room with double bed (shared bathroom)is basically a slightly larger broom cupboard!
private room with double bed(shared bathroom)was just big enough for the bed & a tiny bedside cabinet.Probably better off sleeping in the dorms!
double beds should not be 2 singles pushed together.the heating didnt work very well in our room.
to far out of the city centre,in a very dark & dingy area! also operates a curfew of 01.00am in a brilliant vibrant city that really comes alive later on at night.
NOT TOO FAR FROM THE KREMLIN,RED SQUARE & ALL THE OTHER SITES.METRO NEARBY & A POLICE STATION WHICH MAKES IT A SAFE PLACE.CURRENTLY BEING RENOVATED SO FUTURE TRAVELLERS WILL BENEFIT.
