There isn´t a 24 hour reception. We arrived at 6am, a pretty regular bus from Valparaiso, and had to wait in the bus station for a few hours with nowhere open for food or hot drinks and it was freezing cold. Once we got there though all the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Can´t complain except for the inconvenience of hanging around the bus station

We had a fantastic time here. Pedro and the rest of the staff are really cool, willing to help you out in any way they can and take you out to the best dirty bar in Rio! Fantastic location, so close to the beach and within easy reach of all sights and nightlife. Save us a couple of beds when we come back! xxx

Great breakfast choices and cheap laundry. A shared toilet/shower room didn't have a lock on it. Once said to staff they had it sorted within the hour.

We had a room with a really nice balcony. Staff were very friendly and it's in a fantastic location. Wasn't great water pressure in the shower but that's only minor. Also, there was a small blood stain on the bed sheet which I was a little weirded out by and made me feel the sheets weren't the cleaniest, though I'm sure they had been washed...

Amazing hostel. Free soup at 6, noodles on check in, great breakfast selection, just a really great funky hostel. There is a great tv lounge and an old bus in the back of the hostel by the pool and hot tub where you can hang out. Staff were really friendly and helpful! Best hostel I've ever been in!

For some reason we didn't have a security locker. There were 3 of us staying in a 4 bed dorm and we had just booked it out so it was grand but we would have needed one if there was a 4th person. Other then that the staff were very helpful and friendly, always had clean towels and sheets. Fantastic location, would definitely stay again :D

We ran out of toilet paper and weren't able to get more from reception as it was closed when we left in the morning and by the time we got back in the evening. Could you put multiple rolls in the bathrooms?

didnt get his name but one of the staff was pure hilarious! had me in stitches anytime i talked to him. was in the heart of the city and right beside all the clubs and pubs. only complaint was that there weren't any security lockers but everyone in my room was really nice so there were no problems! great dvd collection too!

Good hostel with helpful friendly staff. Great kitchen and common room. Very close to the city centre! My only complaint would be that the common room got really cold in the evenings. Overall definately one of the better hostels I\'ve stayed in.

This is probably the worst hostel I've stayed in.I was in an apartment seperate from the main place. It didn't have internet, the kitchen didn't have good facilities,no lockers, bathroom was so filthy and more importantly the door had a lock but was always ajar, you couldn't close it properly!!!One of the hostel owners slept on a fold-out couch in the main room which was really weird.I wouldn't have been comfortable in the area on my own at night

There were cockroaches in our room and my friends saw a mouse. It was difficult to get to (we got a taxi from another hostel, it would have been easier if we were coming from the airport). But the staff were really helpful, we got an upgraded room, as did our friends, and the room sizes were good

We only stayed here for one night but both of us were glad we wouldn't be spending another second there. There were bed bugs in one of the rooms and all the bags from that room were put in a big room downstairs where we were told everyone left their bags. Thankfully we didnt get them! We booked a taxi at 5 a.m. and there was a woman sitting in the room with the phone in the dark... it was just a weird hostel with things like that happening.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in,I've stayed in more then my amount shows. We were under 21 but the staff were really nice and friendly and bought us drink! There was always a party on,if not in our hostel then in one of two others.6/7 nights there was a free dinner and it rotated location. We got to meet lots of other travellers that way. The location was amazing, right down the road from the Farmer's Market. It definately made L.A.!

great people... bad hostel.we were staying in an apartment and just happened to get groups of really nice people with us.the only member of staff we dealt with wasn't nice or friendly and gave out when we showed up late... due to train difficulties.location is good and is worth it if you want a cheap bed. there are no security lockers at all though... breakfast is given which is crossants and tea and coffee... with no kettle!!!

Best hostel I ever stayed in! It had everything you needed, good location, good security, very clean, washing and kitchen facilities and had a good location too. The staff were really helpful and I have the best memories from that trip because of that hostel. Free international phonecalls was definately an upside!

Was good if you wanted a place to sleep... and only sleep!!! had to get a boat across which came every half hour. booked a 10-12 bed dorm and ended up in a 38-40 bed dorm... 1 shower between everyone and 2 toilets which dont always flush... if your up for a challange or an experience its definately the one to go for!!!
