Mlade Rooms

Split, Croatia

One of the cheapest places to stay in Split, but don't let that worry you - it's excellent. The room was quiet, very comfortable & clean & the local beach is lovely for swimming with great facilities too. The atmosphere around the university district is very chilled away from the usual tourist haunts & the 30 minute walk into the centre through the local shopping area (burek for breakfast!) & onto the seafront was lovely. Marcel & his mum are warm, friendly & helpful hosts. Highly recommended.

La Torre 1

Lucca, Italy
50%

La Torre is in a great position amongst the main attractions of Lucca and in theory a great base for a break in the city. Unfortunately, the whole B&B is quite shabby & doesn't compare well to other "hostels". The shared bathrooms are dirty, run-down and damp, the bedrooms noticeably damp with uncomfortable beds and each room looked like it needed decorating. None of us slept well because of the noise from the surrounding streets and we checked out 2 days early to find nicer accommodation. Poor.

Il Gatto Zorba

La Spezia, Italy
100%

We had such a lovely three days at Il Gatto Zorba, we really cannot fault it in any way. Patrizia and her husband were perfect hosts and so friendly, I don't think we've ever felt so welcome anywhere! Patrizia was very helpful with tips on where to eat (all of which were fantastic), plus she provided good recommendations for shopping and visits to Cinque Terre. The bedrooms were very clean, comfortable and the bathroom and shower were perfect. Highly recommended for a stay in La Spezia.

Thanks for a brilliant first night in Berlin, guys. You made us feel really welcome and the local tips on places to eat and drink were invaluable. The free meal was delicious and the friendly atmosphere and clean rooms were just perfect. We'll definitely recommend you and will see you again near Christmas! Cheers Alan & Holly Bristol, UK x

B&B La Terrazza

Alghero, Italy
93%

It is difficult to fault B&B La Terrazza in any way really. Mario (the owner) was there from 8am everyday serving our breakfast, as well as chatting to us, offering tips on where to go and generally making us feel completely at home. The location was perfect - the Old town was a 5 min walk west & the beach a 5 min walk north, with space to park your car safely nearby in one of the quiet streets. The rooms were spotless, and the terrace a beautiful sunny spot to relax. Highly recommended

Peppermint Hostel

Budapest, Hungary

Our stay in Budapest was absolutely brilliant, in part because of the excellent Peppermint Hostel and Hyun, the owner. His generosity and friendliness was second to none, helping us with any questions far beyond our expectations. To say the hostel is clean is an understatement, and the kitchen, lounge and shower facilities were of hotel standard. The bed was extremely comfortable, and despite being in a central position, there were no noise problems at all. Highly recommended.
