Considering prices in Iceland, this hostel is a great choice. Good beds (although missing bed light), have to pay extra for duvet if you don't have a sleeping bag (quite standard in Iceland), rooms are warm, showers clean with plenty of hot water and the SAD car office in the same building turns out to be extremely handy if you plan to rent a car. A bit of a down point is the location as the hostel is 10/15 mins walk from the centre and the kitchen needing refurbishment and new pots and pans.

1pound additional to pay for each night on credit card payments ridiculous Very small and cramped rooms Internet too expensive (9 pounds a week) and not fast neither works well in all the rooms Noisy during the night as it hosts numerous school trips Security people rude and unfriendly Facilities dirty, the carpet in the room was never cleaned over a week No kitchen or microwave/hot water facilities even though there are but only 4 the staff Lack of laundry facilities Not a social place
Right by Khao San but in a quieter area, not too noisy, good to sleep. The room was very clean, nice big bed, aircon was working (athough there was no remote so it was a bit annoying not being able to set the temperature). Toilets are clean and with hot water, wifi working fine in the rooms too. Only thing is that is not at all a social place, no good to meet travellers
Good location once you know about the shortcut. Bungalows tend to be cold but plenty of blankets provided. Shower not warm enough though. Very basic accomodation.

Basic accomodation, really social place ideal to meet people. Location is perfect, right next to whatever you need including a local market with good food and drinks (try the juice lady stall inside the market, she is great!)
been there few times already and all's great as usual. nicer staff ever!
Free breakfast is horrible (raw eggs and I found twice hair in it!), wifi is not working, the facilities are not good, the sprung mattresses are painful, and the main issue we had were MICE! The staff didn't take the issue seriously and laughed when people complained. HORRIBLE PLACE
Very nice and centrally located guesthouse, you can walk to Jonker street in few minutes and from the back door you can access directly the riverside and walk along the river or just sit there relaxing watching the boat passing by. The owners are very kind and nice people full of useful info on the city and the things to do. The place is clean and has also a kitchen with free biscuits, tea and coffee. Internet works well, also in the rooms at the last floor. I loved Malacca and my stay there!
Huge cocoon beds that guarantee a bit of privacy, clean rooms and bathrooms, nice atmosphere and free breakfast. Internet works well, security is always in front of the building. The place is great. The only suggestion is to review their breakfast menu, it's very unhealthy and also I am sorry to say not very good! I guess you can see it from the amount of food left on the plates when people finish. Coffee, tea and toasts are great but I couldn't really eat the rest, even if was free.
I stayed both in the dorm and a private aircon room. The hostel is 10 mins walking from shops and restaurants, not that easy to find for taxi drivers (it took me 10 mins around town because they guy had never heard of it) Private rooms with aircon are ok, even though shower is not very hot, only warm. Dorms are far too hot and full of mosquitos because the balcony door are all day open. Reception closes early and no one is there if you have any issue. Not good for security.
Cool place, centrally located. Rooms were too hot though, a fan was not enough during the night. I would also reccomend them to review the food menu and sell more food. On the positive side I have to say I had there the best cappuccino in Thailand! The barista is really good! WIFI is working ok, from there you can book many tours or rent a scooter for an avergae price in town
Near the beach and restaurants (few mins walking), wifi working well, nice people hang out there even though there is no communal area. price is good but I booked a transfer to Pukhet with them and all the info they had given me in terms of itinerary and timing were wrong and I ended up getting there few hours after what they had told me. it wouldn't be an issue if not for the fact that different combination had different prices and I had paid more to get to Pukhet in the quickest way.
great place, just a bit too pricey. Only issue is with their wifi system because you have to log in every time you open a page for example with an iPhone, which is a bit annoying but nothing terrible. Location is great, staff too. Toilets are always spotless clean. That hostel actually is clener than my house! Well done to the cleaning staff!
Nice place to stay, the cheapest one I could find. Only issue is that there are no places to eat next to it. Really nice and helpful staff, including the owner. free breakfast's a plus. It's got nothing to do with the hostel but do not book via them the 2 days 1 night cheapest cruise to Halong Bay. We had been told it was not good but decided to still go for it. Well, let me say that the owner of the hostel was right when he told me not to go with that company!
Nice place to stay, right in the middle of the backpacker area. Clean and quiet rooms with aircon
Convinient location right by restaurants, nightlife and king's palace
Would def recommend this place as it's near enough to Pub Street to walk, no need for tuk tuks in the evening The rooftop bar is really cool...maybe just the reception area should be a bit more colourful and lively :)
Really nice place to stay, top staff! The smiling sisters at the reception & bar are the best!
Stayed there only night, good location but safety should be improved as the dorm practically have no door and anyone can get in day and night easily. also the dorm can be seen from the hall so when you are sleeping or getting changed anyone on his way to the toilets can see you!
This is a really nice place to stay, very quiet and clean, with everything you need, including free breakfast, free wifi and computers. It is not in the main touristic area of Chiang Mai but still really easy to reach either walking or by tuk-tuk. The owners are very nice and helpful in organising and booking for you day trips or visa runs out of Thailand. I would definitely come back here if I'll be back in Chiang Mai. This is the bets place where I stayed in Thailand!
great location, in a quiet street right by the busy area with bars and restaurant. Not a place with a character though, more like a place to spend 1 night before getting back in the street again
I stayed there 2 nights in one of the room of the main house. The room was very basic, not very clean and far too hot to be able to sleep even though there was a fan. The shared toilet wasn't clean either & for three days there has been a bunch of hair in the same place, meaning that no one has ever cleaned it. The place lacks in character the staff barely talked to me, & they didn't try to engage at all with myself or the other customers. Location though was good, just by the main road
Excellent place, everything new, clean and well thought by the architects who have designed it! Things like washing machines, lights above each bed, chargers, handles to hang cloths and the huge security boxes for backpacks are really a plus. Toilets were always clean with hot water and the staff is really nice and friendly. The only issue maybe is just the coldness of the dorms and common areas, but cold is definitely better than hot in Bangkok!
Nice place, close enough to Victoria Station, great location for travellers. The bed was confortable enough, toilets were clean, quite a nice place to stay considering that the common area was the pub on the ground floor. Main issue was security though as it seems that it was too easy to follow someone from the pub upstairs and get in the hostel secured area with him/her. Storage room was great but again the password was always the same and easy one so anyone from the pub could have got in.
Great location, right in the middle of central London. free breakfast in the morning was really good and use of the kitchen a plus. The owners are really nice people and helped me when I messed up the booking dates. However the main issues for me were the cleanliness of the hostel, especially the toilets (the facilities are quite old too, typical for London, but still toilets would need a refurbishment) and the fact that there was a mouse running around in my room!
All good as usual! I have been here often and it's a very nice and safe place to sleep in London. Only shame is some of the staff never ever smiling. They actually seem very pissed off of doing their jobs sometimes! Guys smile!!! life is actually beautiful!

This hostel is a disgrace. Cleanliness looks like has never been here. A part from reception that looks tidy and refurbished, the stink of mould in the corridors and bathroom was unbearable. No hot water from the shower. Every single surface in the common kitchen was dirty and sticky. However the staff was friendly and helpful.
