The hostel was in a super location (in the old town) and the air con was amazing. But the drinks at the moving bar were super expensive

nice family run hostel, willing to help you with things, nice not to live in a bunk bed for a while and have a proper bed, easy to meet fellow travelers. A little expensive but would stay here again

Shocking! I'm not one to complain about petty things such as leaches in the 'shower', filth, leaking roof, no water, empty bars going til 6am; these things occasionally happen! What annoyed me were having to keep my valuables on me 24/7(no lockers + no security), being ripped off (£13 to be escorted to a market very easy to walk to), having to agree with the owner all the time so he didn't verbally attack me, no breakfast as advertised same $ DON'T STAY HERE

I an Marcel Bendayan, the owner, and usually charge much more than that amount for being your personal guide....i am not going to reply about all those issues (security, leaches, etc); all I can tell is that the other ladies at the same tour wrote a great review about us (the Swiss girls) and stayed much longer than you did..Camiri is definitively not for all kind of travelers.

Great location, helpful staff, a party hostel but not over the top, nice breakfast! I've stayed at the loki too in Lima and i would by far choose to stay in the pariwana over the loki

Lovely hostel cats! Very nice hostel with very helpful staff the only downside was that despite the hostel having everything you need the atmosphere wasn't really there, maybe it had something to do with the fact the tv room and the bar were together. If i had been traveling alone it would have been hard to meet others there. Really near the baths!

Thanks for your comment! Cats are doing great and we added a dog, so we got two now! Sorry you didn’t feel the atmosphere was there sometimes it has to do with the amount of people or the group we have but the common area is a great place to mingle, we’ll work on the TV thing. Best wishes to all!

Friendly hostel with a good feeling of 'community', super comfy beds, nice bathrooms although there were not enough to go round... so if you had a bad belly bad things could happen if you couldn't hold on. I wasn't aware that i had to pay for breakfast which was annoying but it was nice even so. Very much appreciated the all day coffee.

Nice hostel with a nice pool, however the only 'chill out sofa' was located next to a very big, loud speaker playing a very bad mix of music all day. There kitchen was very convenient however never had tiradito or chicken wings and sometimes no mexican burger. The staff were fun and sociable however one of the security men was a complete spasticated mongoloid who thought it a good idea to wack kind dogs for his own sick pleasure, i wanted to bend him over and use his stick on him...

Hostel Bar Duck

Cusco, Peru

Every day there was some kind of Peruvian ceremony with a band, parade, (sometimes with free champagne and food) starting at around 9am. I very much enjoyed this i felt like a cultured backpacker getting a true taste of Peruvian spirit; however my roommates were often tired from sexing the night before so didn't participate (i even watched on occasions). Overall i really enjoyed this hostel, the owners are very helpful. bar duck bar duck bar duck!!!!! quack quack

A place to ruin your liver and bank balance through your bar tab. Good parties, good themes and excellently speedy sick clear ups in the toilets for the few who have one too many. They also have a hair room which is super handy when getting ready. would stay here again if in La Paz

hmmmm.... pro's - the beds were comfy and the hostel made booking buses and the mine tour easy con's - no hot water, some of the staff talked no English, the use of Skype was banned, the guide on the arranged mine tour and for no visible reason asked me if i was pregnant whilst doing my waist belt for my flash light on the smallest notch and starring at my tits - turd monger!

I was mostly either drunk, hungover, being sick, kissing boys, trying to kiss boys, acquiring drunk/hungover injuries around the hostel (i fell out the shower, had a falling out with the locker as it gashed my back, and got electrocuted with the dodgy switch in the bathroom) or rarely attempting to be productive going on an organised tour... the tango show was great though! If you want to experience the above this is the place for you... Milhouse is a bad idea for sobar cultured stop overs!

Books was a great place; you were able to book any tour here, meet people, have a drink and even get information on less common things to do - i wanted to buy Rio 3 UFC tickets and Lobo (member of staff) took me all the way to the ticket center on a bus so i was able to find my way without getting lost. I also got very drunk and had a nice breakfast to fix me in the morning. I would highly recommend and come back if on route again. Cheers! Kate

Very nice hostel, cheap beer, good location and good showers... easy to meet people but also easy to get stuck and miss any arranged pub crawls so therefor i think the hostel should create it's own pub crawl or arrange for everyone to go together several nights a week. Overall experience = super

Evershine in off season is for sure the only place you will find any kind of backpacker social life which is especially important when travelling solo, i had a good time here but moved round the corner as it was cheaper! That didn't stop me coming back round in the evening to chill for a beer with the guys staying at Evershine and it was really cool that i was still welcome! thanks for my stay here!

The reception guys were very helpful, when helping me book my train away. the hostel was quite hard to find if you walk from the metro so get a rickshaw. It was a good place for a quick stop over and a drink with fellow backpackers however the roof top terrace which was advertised is now literally a rooftop with some chairs as apparently the neighbours complained or something about thew noise which is sad ( it think it should be put back!)! All in all a useful place to stop.

The layout of the hostel was very nice indeed. And the guy who greeted us was extremely helpful with ideas on what to do in Lagos. However it's not a particulary socal hostel and has a number of 'house rules' which were slightly boarding school like. Had i known the hostel was going to be like this i would have stayed at the monkey hostel down the street. This is where it's happening. Stay there is you wanna drink and not abide by strict rules! Location is good though

Amazing hostel, had a really good time in this hostel. Managed to make a party every night and see the sights in the day. Very easy to meet people so for lone travellers a very good idea, Staff were very tollerant when i had a few too many! This hostel is not so much for the quiet early bad time type people. Also the key system is excellent with no need to bring your own padlocks. The lady who makes dinners in the evening is a hero! Her chicken and asparagus pie was awesome - recipe please??
