Spacious converted loft conveniently located near a couple of subway stations... and just minutes to central Manhattan. Although not for everyone i like this location, in a developing part of Queens and i love the noise of the elevated subway rattling above - very NYC. The hostel has excellent facilities although it kind of lacks a certain vibe - maybe it needs speakers playing music in the common areas..? Or maybe the staff need to interact more with the guests..? Jason was great though.
An excellent hostel - very trendy and stylish, with funky furniture and lighting and music in the lounge / lobby area. And a beautiful outdoor garden / bar area by the swimming pool. The rooms were clean and with great attention to detail - even a couch and coffee table. And the staff were very attentive and helpful. The only real issue is that the bar is open to the public - and the public that frequents aren't really so social, in that they stay within their own little 'VIP' circle.
The dorm rooms are great with privacy thanks to 'enclosed' areas around the head of the bed. Nice large lockers also. The hostel is in a beautiful old historical building in the revitalized downtown area of San Diego. There is a comfy lounge area and other good common areas... and constant music playing over the speakers (even in the bathrooms) is a nice touch (although it shuts off at 11pm or thereabouts). The reception staff are super friendly and attentive and have strong local knowledge.
In a beautiful historic building, spacious and with comfortable common areas - in a perfectly central location. The breakfast is also very good. I guess the only thing lacking is that despite there being a nice lounge area with beanbags, there is a lack of a social atmosphere - maybe there should be music or a bar or something..? It could still close at midnight in line with the current 'quiet time' rules (which are reasonable).
Security gets average reviews because nobody asked for passport / ID when i checked in. No locks on dorm room doors. And front door to hostel was constantly left open. It is Mexico after all! The breakfast was terrible too. Criticisms out the way, everything else about this hostel was awesome! Beautiful restored mansion with pool and communal outdoor patio area with nice atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and social. And for me, the location AWAY from main tourist strip was cool.
A cozy hostel with a nice outdoor courtyard, as well as a funky lounge area. Relatively small - and so it feels like home after just a few days. The location is excellent, in a lively neighborhood that is a good mix of tourists and locals. And plenty of good nightlife and restaurants in the vicinity. The only suggestion i'd offer this hostel, would be to change the ugly white lights for something more atmospheric - install some softer yellow or orange lighting or something...
Excellent hostel with a great aesthetic and social vibe, but also with reasonable limits (bar and music shut down at midnight). The location also very good in Medellin's best neighborhood. No major complaints really, although perhaps some of the dorm rooms are a little close to the communal kitchen which can be disruptive when trying to sleep. Maybe this kitchen should just be closed down since there is already a second kitchen closer to the reception area..? In any case, just a minor thing!
Overall, a nice place with a friendly atmosphere and very attentive and helpful staff. Just needs a few infrastructural tweaks, but this is already in progress and so pretty soon it should be up to a high standard. Excellent location in an interesting part of the city.
A beautiful hostel!

Awesome place with a fun and social vibe. The facilities were modern and slick and stylish - attention to detail in all aspects, from the common areas to the dorms to the bathrooms.
