Decent place. The 'standard' rooms on HostelWorld don't include food, but supper generally looked terrible anyway. We paid the extra 5 for breakfast one morning, then opted for a cheaper bakery breakfast the next morning. We were happy to get our laundry done cheap here, have excellent wifi, and a cool basement room.
Yes, it's hard to find
We were so impressed with this place! Great location - quick walk from Arusha Riverside shuttle drop off point. And fast, free wifi.
We booked a 7 bed dorm
No complaints! Spend the extra $ to stay here!
Great for a night stopover. Really nice owner. Free wifi would be nice though. And the sheets/pillow cases could use a wash - they stuck like sweat.
Fine for the price...except the pillow cases
Can't recommend highly enough! Doing a RTW, and best place we stayed do far. Fantastic staff! It's like they can read your mind :-)
Look no further! Stay here!!
If you get the Mekong bus, DON'T get a taxi to the hostel. It's like a 3 min walk across the park and the taxi will likely rip you off big time (he drove us in circles with a rigged meter). And the hostel is NOTHING like it looks in the photos. Most beds don't actually have curtains around them, 18 ppl sharing 1 dirty bathroom, no security (you don't really even have to pay...just walk in and grab a bed, no one will notice). Been staying in similar price hostels in SEA, but this one the worst.
Mr. Whynot is the best!! This has to be the best value for money in Siam Reap. So clean
Good place - only thing is that the cabanas are quite loud, as the old airfield is right behind them and locals gather there. And there was a big brush fire (the night guard watching it) right next to our hut, and the smell pretty terrible. I'd advise to book directly, to avoid the rooms dedicated to HostelWorld customers.
Under NO circumstances would I ever consider staying at this hotel again. When we booked online we were under the impression that we would be staying at the York hotel. Instead, we were directed to the Cranbrook hotel where we registered and were sent to a random house in a very dodgy neighbourhood. There was no security and the room was very dirty and bug infested. Also, the bathrooms were unshowerable. In order to feel safer we had to push the wardrobe in front of the door when we slept. At no point during our stay were we even told why we weren't staying at the York hotel. I hope that anyone reading this review will seriously think twice about booking accomadation here.
