Excellent value for money. Great location if you're on Tenerife to see the sights and not just to hit the beach, quiet and secluded, nicely furnished and decorated, and really, ridiculously cheap. I'd definitely come back and I recommend it heartily. The only, tiny downside I would mention is that cooking would be easier if there was either an oven or at least a microwave oven. PS we stayed with a baby and really appreciated everything that was done to make him feel at home (toys, bathtub, etc.
Great location (downside, though: parking is incredibly expensive), nice room (but tiny bathroom), more or less welcoming staff (varies a lot from one person to another), OK breakfast. A tad expensive for what you get to be honest, but then everything in Brighton is overpriced, so...
We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely come back there. It does take some time to get to Venice from the hostel (10 minutes' walking + vaporetto), but it's actually quite nice to start and end the day with a quiet walk along the water. The room was comfortable and the breakfast, served with great kindness, fills you up for the day. A very good place to stay!
Very nice play to stay in Copenhagen - clean and cosy. It felt good to come back to the warmth of our room at the end of a long day in the cold. The location is not central, but the center is only 5 minutes away by bus (which stops right next to the hostel) or 15/20 if you decide to walk. Good value for money overall. We'd definitely come back there.
A very nice place to stay in Barcelona, not right in the city centre but conveniently located next to the metro and in a very quiet street. We enjoyed the terrace where we took our breakfast every morning. Jordi had lots of helpful advice. Only downside was having to cross the apartment from our room to get to our private bathroom, but that really wasn't much of an issue. We'd definitely go back there!
Great place to stay in Lisbon. It's perfectly located, secure, impeccably clean (our room was done everyday), the staff is nice and the breakfast is gorgeous. I'd definitely come back here. Great value for money!
Great place to stay. Charming house, nice room, good facilities, very helpful staff; really good value for money overall!

Depends on what you are looking for: location and staff are great, very pleasant place, but you should be warned that it can be VERY loud. Sleeping can be difficult at times: very loud music in the bar just above the rooms, noisy digicode system for the dorms. So if you’re travelling with friends or on your own and are looking for fun, perfect choice. If you’re looking for a quiet place to sleep peacefully after a long day visiting the city, it would probably be wise to look somewhere else.
Great place, great staff, excellent location. It really is as good as it looks. Stay there!
Excellent location, great staff, and on the whole the place has character (loved the staircase!). The place has its drawbacks, though: no lock on the room, no lock in the toilets (!), no heating in the bathroom... The hostel also operates a bar on the ground floor, which is cool, but can be noisy too (and it also seems as though it leaves the staff little time to look after the hostel itself, making sure there is toilet paper in the restroom, for instance...).
Great place, great staff, excellent location. Definitely very good value for the money. The only downside was sharing the flat with a group of four hysterical schoolgirls who behaved as though they owned the place; Pal's Hostel can't be blamed for that of course, but given that the apartment had only a double room and a 4-bed dorm and that the living-room was right next to the dorm, I feel this is bound to happen regularly. This being said, I would definitely stay there again!
I don't quite get why this place gets such high ratings. It really has no charm whatsoever (the rooms are literally bare, except for the futons), and is really not that convenient at all to get to the airport, unless you're willing to pay a fortune to ride one of those special express trains (not to mention the fact that the staff gave us some erroneous info on how to go to Narita). There are better deals in Tokyo.
A great place to stay. Very nice staff, and the dorms are set up so as to get as much intimacy as you possibly can. Only one shower, but it was not a problem when we stayed there. Highly recommended.
Quite simply the pleasantest, cosiest, cleanest hostel I've ever stayed at, in Japan or anywhere else. The place is brand new, the staff speak good English and are very friendly and helpful, there are almost as many showers as there are rooms, and I wish I had such a great kitchen at home. If you're going to Aso, stay there - you won't want to leave.
Wow - what a sharp contrast between this place and all the other hostels where we stayed in Japan! The shower and WC (only one of each, so be prepared to wait in line) are dirty, the staff speak barely a word of English and are virtually undistinguishable from guests - you're supposed to ring at the reception to get someone, but the morning we left and wanted to check out, no one came... The only positive aspect is the location. Stay there only if you have no other option!
A great place to stay; nothing to complain about. Comfortable rooms, great staff, great facilities.
Perfectly located right next to the station and all the bus stops. There are no lockers in the dorms, but they are set up so as to offer about as much intimacy as you can possibly get in a room where you sleep with six other people. More than enough restrooms and showers (all really clean), and a hot bath to boot. A good place to stay.
An OK place to stay. It's not in the centre of Nikko, but it's not too long to walk there. The rooms are comfortable, but the shower/washbasin setup is kinda weird (the washbasin stands on its own on the landing, which makes it somewhat lacking in intimacy). Nothing to really complain of on the whole.
Nice little rooms - not much space to move around, but everything's really clean and it's nice to have your own bathroom for the price. The only downside is the location: it is indeed close to Ueno station, but as you spend a few days in Tokyo you realize that it is actually rather remote from the centre of things, with long subway rides every night to get back to the hotel. Great value for the money though overall.
Quite an expensive place given the comfort of the room - there was hardly any room to move around, the bed was creaky, the room was dark... The location is excellent but I'm sure you can easily find a better place for the same price. One last warning: breakfast is not included in the price and costs 8 €...
This guesthouse is only a few minutes away from Bruges' historical center, and those who drive there will be able to park their car in the street for free. The two men running the house are very nice and helpful, and, although the room was somewhat old-fashioned (but comfortable), the room where the excellent breakfast is served is delightful. For 50 € a night, this is definitely good value for money. The only downside is that the room is not non-smoking and there was a light smell of cigarette.
A very pleasant place to stay. Our apartment was bright, nicely decorated, and perfectly clean. The staff was nice and helpful. It\'s not a place to stay if you\'re looking for fun, but if you want a quiet place just two minutes away from the U-bahn station (one station away from Westbanhof), then it\'s perfect. Particularly recommended for couples!
Perfectly clean, very pleasant (English-speaking) staff, very conveniently located, calm... The only downside was that there was no actual AC, only a fan. Apart from thatquite a perfect place to stay.
