Meša is the most helpful and kind hostel/guesthouse manager I've ever met, even giving a lift to my travelling companions who didn't stay at Elite and letting one leave her luggage for a few hours. Though the room had a view of only the reception area, it was comfortable and had good facilities.
The receptionist was very helpful. The kitchen was well-equipped. My room facing the street (next to the kitchen) was rather noisy, and the bathroom had a smell and the shower-head holder was broken though.
My "Basic 2 Bed Mixed Dorm" was not at the map location but further north at the intersection of Sinjska ul. and Poljana Vjekoslava Klaic'a. The room overlooked the noisy Sinjska ul. street and was on the 4th floor -- equivalent to 8th floor in modern buildings: quite a climb!
Guests should be directed to the Ibis Hotel as Formule 1's reception is unmanned and they must check in at Ibis's. The Ibis receptionist was unaware of my hostelworld booking; fortunately, I had a printout showing the exact amount due (remaining £ to pay after subtracting the deposit).
Excellent 10-bed dorm but gloomy common areas. If kitchen is missing crockery/cutlery, look in TV/dining room.
Excellent common areas but spartan dusty 4-bed room
For a fantastic view, look out the window of the front dorm. Included breakfast is cornflakes, cereal, milk, bread and jam. Kitchen has a microwave, 2 electric hobs and a fridge.
2-(bunk)bed rooms with bathroom and van pickup from/to St Maurice Sq highly recommended. Reasonable large-portion dinners too (pizza:€5.50, mixed:€6.50).
Lodgers get 20% off at nearby Old Bell pub (not that the food's great...)
Included breakfast and attached bathrooms are good. 4 Internet terminals for 150 people aren't!
