Great hostel. Clean dorm with ensuite. Dorm beds had their own power sockets. Location is great. On S. Yunnan st which has many cheap snd interesting restaurants serving shanghainese and provincial food. Close to People's park and a 25 minute walk to the bund. Also walking distance to nightclubs. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location to get to the viewpoints in Tiantouzhai. As mentioned by others the hostel is in Tiantouzhai NOT Dazhai so 40 min uphill trek required from carpark. Dorms were clean and ensuites had plentiful hot water. Wifi was good. Meals were average and really overpriced. Shuttle service from Guilin train station works well.

Location is ok. Not quite in the centre of Thamel but not bad. Very clean and hot water flows well. Wifi is not in the rooms but in lobby and stairwell. Staff are a mixed bag. Dhruba was really friendly and helpful but Ghan was surly and completely unhelpful. He also got quite pushy with overpriced tours. However the reservation system worked well and included breakfast (although I didnt get a chance to try it) is a good freebie.

Great location. 2 min walk to tourist bus station and 10 min to Airport shuttle drop off. Rooms are clean and spacious and given that the dorm section is actually a wing of the Traffic hotel you get hotel freebies in the dorms like soap, slippers, tea and towels. Best aspect though is the staff who are friendly, helpful and full of city info. There was one particular girl at reception who was really helpful (and cute!). Thanks so much! Best overall hostel I've stayed at in China

Dorms are large, seem almost brand new and are EXTREMELY well equiped. Personal electricity sockets, large comfortable sturdy bunks and ensuites that are hotel quality. Location isnt bad - 10 min walk to Bell tower. Staff aren't bad and produce a very helpful free map but seem a bit disinterested at times. Wifi didn't work in my dorm and although it was fast disconnected a lot. Recommended for a comfy and clean experience.

Good hostel. A bit removed from the turmoil of the main strips in Pham Ngu Lao. Good seafood restaurant next door. Clean. Ensuites in dorms good. I'm not sure if there is hot water. Bfast is bread, jam and coffee. Wifi is solid. Tours to Cu Chi are overpriced though.

Very good hostel. The free beer happy hour is a great way to get the travellers together and socialising but it is not a rowdy party hostel. My dorm was clean with a good a/c and a clean ensuite. Very central. Walking distance from the airport minibus stop. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very helpful and the day trip I took to halong bay thru them was comparable to other tour agents. Only downside was the dorm was quite cramped.

Excellent new hostel. Brand new, extremely clean and with all the facilities (good food, reasonably priced tours, wi-fi) that you would associate with a hostel in the west. Its good value means it attracts a lot of Indonesian travellers as well which is great to meet locals. Location is not within the main Jl Malioboro tourist strip but is an easy 15 min walk away and a Transjogya bus stop is about 5 min walk. Breakfast was great Indo food in large quantities and dorms are spotless with lockers.

Clean and well kept bathrooms. Dorms are tiny with 6 beds crammed together - no lockers or walking-room. However linen and beds are clean. Can't complain though given the excellent price. Location is very close to Djemma-el-fna. Great for exploring the square but not so good for the nightlife in the ville nouvelle. Location can be hard to find but the detailed directions are accurate.

Location isn't very convenient but it is still walkable to the city centre in half hr to 45 min with luggage. Very helpful with safaris and bookings and wont hassle you to take their trips. Food and common areas were good but dorms didn't have many plugpoints or any lockers. Great place to meet other travellers if you are looking to put a group together for a safari.

Excellent hostel. Dorms are clean although no lockers. Location on Long street is excellent - close to clubs and eateries. Very safe and can only be entered with keycoded gate lock. Main thing about this hostel is the great staff. They will help you organise trips and activities and best of all will make bookings for you without charging any commission - they will even do this for service providers that they are not affiliated with. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean. Highly recommended.

Excellent hostel. Ibrahim and Gail know just what is needed to run a good hostel. Spotlessly clean with lovely dorm. Excellent bathrooms with hot water. Great breakfast which is served early allowing you to eat before taking the Wadi Rum bus or hitting Petra. They will pick up your bags from the Jett bus drop off for free. Great communal environment to meet travellers. The tour they recommended in Wadi Rum with Wadi Rum 7 pillars was good value for money. Keep up the good work guys!

Pros - Located near the old Abdali bus station which is near the Jett bus office. Perfect if you need to walk to the Jett office to catch the early Petra bus. Ridiculously cheap accommodation in the dorms - 2JD Cons - The dorm is a small room on the rooftop with no lock with 6 mattresses side by side on the floor. The dorm stinks and you have to step on other people to get to your mattress. Toilets dont work either and no sign of toilet paper. Mattress was clean with no bed bugs though.

Lovely owner. Helpful and kind. Everything you would expect from a bed and breakfast type accommodation. Single room was clean and ensuite was spotless. Room was heated and good value for price. This is not a dorm-type accommodation though and is aimed squarely at the independant traveller/couple on vacation rather than the backpacker crowd. Breakfast was standard turkish vegetables, bread and spreads. Owner is an agent for Kamilcok bus company (reliable and reputable) and can book tickets.

Great Hostel. Good location close to Omonia and Monastirake. Decor is quite nice and rooms are clean. Staff are excellent. Gave me great info about nightlife in Greece and stored my bags for me while I travelled around the Greek islands. They then helped me get a flight out of Greece and use the internet for free after my onward transportation from Greece was hampered by the strikes. They did all of this even though I had checked out several days before. They also manage Pella inn.

Good cheap 2 star hotel. Had my own private bathroom and TV for 30 euro. Right next to the bus stop in ancient olympia and very helpful and friendly owner. One useful thing for travellers to Olympia is that there IS cheap accommodation in olympia that is not advertised on the net. There is a youth hostel on the main street with dorm beds for about 18 euro but I'm not sure what the opening hours are like and Inomaos is definitely a safe bet if your arriving to olympia at a late time of night

Good hostel. Security is excellent with code-locked entry doors. Rooms are clean but a little shabby. Bathrooms are clean. The caretaker Max is excellent - friendly and helpful. Good location close to main strip [allenby and ben yehuda junction] and a 2 minute walk to the beach. My only cvomplaint was my credit card was charged for the full cost of my booking [I wanted to pay cash] although I arrived on the agreed date and gave clear notice on the day that my arrival time was somewhat delayed.

Excellent hostel. New, very clean and very professional and helpful staff. Location is great. Gives you the restaurant and night life of the new city but the old city remains an easy 20 minute walk or 10 min light rail trip away. Having the light rail stop in front of the hostel is indeed a great advantage. All dorms have their own ensuite and the breakfast is plentiful and excellent.

Milhouse Hipo

Poor experience. This place is advertised as a party hostel and they do a good job of organising drinking parties and excursions to clubs but the place is a gringo-fest and it fosters getting plastered with other people from the same country as you rather than meeting new nacionalities and ethnicities. The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful and I had my bed evicted and cleaned out by accident 1 day before i was due to check out even though I had paid in advance.

Rooms are clean and functional as are the bathrooms. Breakfast is excellent. There is an excellent social calender but all the events are overpriced and can be done much cheaper independently. Pay in US dollars for the room rather than in reais since the hostel bases all its calculation in USD and then converts it to reais at a horrible exchange rate. The staff are very friendly and helpful though and the hostel security is excellent.
