the property is quite far from the bus terminal but even further from the old town, although both ways are presumably walkable. we spent almost an hour getting lost looking for the property in the first place. a clearer direction guide would have helped. the owner of the property is super nice and helpful. she recommended a fairer taxi company so we hiired taxis to get in and out of the old town, and finally back to the bus terminal. the bakery close to the property is the best in town!
easy walk to the train station, not far from the city center and close to an money exchange booth, but it does take me around 15 minutes to get to the bus terminal by foot. we had slight allergic reactions when stepping into our room perhaps due to the carpeting, but the whole property is super clean.
The quality of the rooms vary. We've stayed in two rooms. The first one with a window facing the ventilation courtyard is too damp without an exhaust fan in the toilet. The toilet door is moldy and the floor is constantly damp. The second room was a lot better. Sometimes they turn off the heating at night and it could get quite cold. Of the five staff members we met only one younger guy on night shift showed friendliness, but the others are not too bad. One of the cleaning ladies was very nice.
The humble, welcoming, and experienced manager Tom is open to all kinds of advice and suggestions. Everything is squeaky clean, and the location is great.
The location is wonderful, not only close to the biggest sites but well connected with the tram. Official information center is just across the street. Great breakfast with an amazing view. Although one bathroom and one toilet on one floor could be a problem but I did not experience any. Some facilities are a bit old but not unclean.
The staff member who let me into the luggage room didn't care to say a word to me when I was leaving the hostel. The toilet (only one for men) often needs to be wiped before being used, and two shower spaces for men could be a little too few. Otherwise, their location and free internet are really nice.

With the most helpful staff at the front desk, although the hostel might not be ideally located.

The staff member at the reception was really helpful, the location is great (although it might not have been my best experience to carry sheets on the street in the elegant Vienna on the way from the reception desk to the dorm on the first day), and the information provided on the wall is really useful. Some guests were insensitively loud very late at one night, but that´s not for the hostel to control.
This is a place where people stop simply updating their facebook status and start talking to one another with great character, and the location is wonderful. Only that smoke from smokers in the doorway could get into the dorm sometimes, two bathrooms for all could be a bit too few, not enough power sockets in the dorm, and it could be quite dark in the courtyard between the front door and the staircase at night.
I thought after WWII no one has to be forced to wear a sign the whole day to identify oneself. You can't take off the paper strip on your arm during your stay. Four toilets for the whole hostel are not enough, and there are practically no power socket for you to use.
The staff was a bit indifferent when they ran out of bread for the breakfast. Too few shower rooms (together with toilets). But the location is nice, although quite far to reach upon arrival with train.
It's cheap (low price but poor quality). Only three showers in the mens' shower room mean you would be waiting in the nude. The water of previous two showers come down through your feet if you are in the last one. Only two toilets for men, from where you could smell the urinal all the time. Perfect for super-low budget trips.
Bookers have to be reminded again that the fee listed here does not include sheets (mine had shoe prints on) and taxes. The kitchen, the living room, and the shower shared by many are a bit messy, free food all day long would have been cool had I stayed there all day long.
Excellent breakfast and nice location, but the queue at the check-in counter seems quite long most of the time.
On the top of friendly and understanding staff, the hostel on a boat offers organic vegan breakfast. A must-try hostel.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and provided maps better than the one from the touristic information center. The hostel is extremely new and very clean, although the smell of new paint may bother some. It would be better if there were more toilets and shower rooms outside the dorms.
With friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast, and free Internet. Only one little thing, that my bed was still covered by used sheets when I got there, and the air in the ensuite room was stifling (opening the window will help but it gets quite cold at night).
The water at the shower was indeed quite cold, and the heater did not function during the night. With a single blanket, it was considerably cold. Nicely located, though, and the bar downstair is not bad.
This hostel really lives up to its name as the best hostel, at least it's the best one I have stayed at. The staff members were really considerate, helpful, and friendly, and the free information websites were really helpful.
The staff members were excellent. I basically learned about the whole city and my next step through the instruction from one of them. But the toilet lid at the men's washroom is loose so there are often...stains and liquids on it.
