Alas there were 0% yes big zero recycling facilities. Because of the location, it can still be noisy until after midnight, and early morning. Not so much a problem when nights are cooler and window closed, but in summer difficult to sleep.

Hostel is well located for those that like to party/be near beach and don't mind the noise, so potentially higher rating possible. However room 12 on first floor I stayed in had a serious issue with street level noise for a light sleeper like myself. The windows and doors need fixing, as cold one of the nights but the whole building was in need of repairs, not just hostel. Staff were friendly and helpful, was and good to have a changing security code. Bed was OK, toilets and shower clean.

Energy conservation was not well thought-out, they could save a lot of money and our environment, thinking about the heating. All rooms had the same heating, that can not be switched on-off (only centrally). Heating on in room, too hots, several rooms on 2nd and 3rd floor had windows open.

Friendly staff, free WiFi in reception / eating area. Breakfast costed €5 extra. Single room at €69 was however very over-priced for the size and condition (looked as if converted student accommodation, and shower unit needed repairing so that bathroom floor not wet /slippery after showering). As it is a hostel with groups of loud teenagers, this not for light sleepers, or those that do not like being woken at 7:30 a.m on a weekend.

light sleepers should pay the extra and ask for a single or double room with toilet. The small shared room/dorms are noisy in the morning.

A new hostel that still require a great deal of work as of Feb. 2010, however also clear the new owner is serious about improving the place, should be good by July 2010. Thin walls though.

Ideal stop-over for me. Was not there long enough to really get a feel for the hostel.
