Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is close to main train station, great for a quick overnight stay when traveling. The red light district as such is not problem, however it does attract loud revelers, lots of car traffic, and in the morning some drunks were sleeping on the sidewalk across from the hostel. The hostel itself is speaceful, does cater to people who like loud music. You have to ring a bell before entering - needed at this location. Bring earplugs to get a good night sleep.
Excellent location close to the train station, Stubnerkogelbahn to get you high into the mounbtains, Felsentherme. Temporarily construction behind the hotel, and a 10 minute walk to the nearest grocery store. Good local bus service to other grreat area towns. Room very clean with huge bright modern bathroom. Some old ambience in other areas, rather charming. Staff very friendly. Noise from construction and trains. Good value. I will go back.
The location is not in the center of Munich, yet that can be a big advantage; fairly easy to reach by U-bahn,and in a very pleasant neighborhood with easy access in walking distance to the Isar valley and the zoo. The hostel was extremely clean, modern and spacious, the best I have ever stayed in for many years. Although it is not inexpensive, it is quite beautiful and worth the money.
Staff is very nice and helpful. Location close to main station, public transportation, tourist information and the delightful old town .makes this a very convenient hostel. Immediate surroundings are typical for a large city with traffic and some construction, but the proximity to the old town makes up for that. Exellent information about the town and museums are available at the tourist information center nearby. Research museum cards and weekly tickets and go explore from this useful base.
This is a small hostel with a very friendly and homey atmosphere. If "fun" means loud partying for you, look for another place, but if "fun" means a very personable owner, books, flowers, trees outside, and a short distance to the metro, than there is none better.
All the staff were very helpful, especially Simone. I rated "fun" very highly since for me, fun involves the beautiful setting, the huge lawn area, view of lake and mountain, and the scenic walking path. There are no bars, loud noises or party atmosphere. Even as a teenager, I enjoyed nature, and this hostel is one of the best I ever stayed in during many years of hosteling.
This hostel is in the Marais district, and there are numerous shops around. It is a great place if you want to be in the middle of a lively every day living type neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are quite small (but all of beautiful Paris is there to explore, so who cares?), and the street noise is loud (bring earplugs). Next time I would bring a sleep sack to avoid getting in contact with the blanket on the bed. The metro is in easy walking distance, and I thoroughly enjoyed staying there in the middle of Paris life.
