When we arrived at like 3am we had to sort some travel stuff out. We sat downstairs and there were locals who were utterly rude. Saying in Portuguese that he didn't accept the fact that 'gringos' didn't learn Portugese and tourist should adapt etc. You're in a hostel with guests from around the world, everyone communicates with each other via Spanish or English. I speak 5 languages but felt very offended by the way he spoke -thought he was a friend of staff not sure. Just wanted to let you know

We don't share the same opinion as previous reviewers. The reception guy was a fruit loop didn't know anything about Cartagena, not even where the closest supermarket was or about the famous fort OR where they were located on the map. 12-bed was too cramped, aircon was hardly noticeable (in 4-bed it worked), kitchen had no microwave, BBQ

I loved your hostel, however majority of staff didn't have knowledge of promotions (an example: blogging for a free night). It might be good to educate staff or at least have one person that takes charge, it was chaos every time we checked in or out. Some backpackers who work there for free accom have quite an attitude too. Also at night time when people check-in, a staff member brings the new guests to the room but turns the light on at 3am and no whispering but loudly talking, happened twice.

The rooms are awesome! We are a couple but stayed it two seperate male/female dorms. Rooms clean, spacious, incl a kitchen and the beds were comfortable. The guests were friendly and staff helpful. However, a couple of the long term guests were very loud, dodgy and obnoxious (in a bad way) when they were out, all the guests were socializing and having fun, when they got back everyone left (these guys threw glass bottles, yelling, turned themselves on fire etc) unpredictable. Bring earplugs!!

Overal a great hostel! The rooms are nothing special but it does the job. The kitchen is very spacious, enough pots and pans, you can use the barbecue after their use and they offer cheap meals there too. We found it to be very sociable though most travelers we met there are quite young and like to party every night.

Bit far out of the city, nevertheless they organize free shuttle busses to the city and back (even in the night!). About the prices in Nomad I am a bit confused. On hostelworld an 8-bed dorm is 14 dollar a night, at their website the same dorm is 24 dollar a night and if you call them it is 18 dollar a night. For the rest big and clean rooms, lockers, good showers, only not enough plugs for 8 people in room and reading lights would be great as my dorm mates wanted to read all the tim

The place was great when we were with a nice group of people. Besides that there is not really much to do, no communal area or so. Small and crampy room but friendly staff. Instead of a 6 bed dorm, you'll get an 8 bed dorm. First the place is a bit hard to find, it is on the 5th floor of one of the towers, entrance is next to 7 eleven.
