The location is GREAT but this place is kinda ghetto. The rooms are not very clean, the wifi is slower than Christmas and doesn't work at all half the time - I had to walk around the block to find an unlocked network somewhere that works several times. The showers are push button like the faucets on the sink - taking a shower longer than about 1 minute requires continually pushing the button. My shower also had some sort of duct tape in the corner instead of a proper repair.

Had a good stay here in a private room and slept like a log. Becky in particular at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The hostel organizes events like hikes and bonfires. The location is good, a short walk or bike ride to the grocery, places to eat, etc. Definitely a good value and cool place to stay if visiting Lake Louise.

Overall I was happy staying here and the staff were all very cool and helpful, but others looking to book here should be aware that the hostel is about a 15 minute downhill walk to downtown. That means every time you return to the hostel it's a fairly steep 10 minutes of uphill walking. I'm not one to complain about having to walk uphill a little bit, but after a long day of hiking or biking it kinda blows.
Cheers for your review, thanks for sharing your positive views of our staff. I hope you took advantage of the bus pass we offer our guests for free travel on the local transit system? We like our peaceful location and the view of Rundle Mountain, but realize that we are out of the downtown core. - Kirsten Miffling, AGM
