Surely one of the best places in Reykjavik to stay at! Great value for little money and top location in a quiet street just 3 min walk from the city center. Host Konrad is very uncomplicated and helpful. Free bike use and a very cosy common room at the attic.

St George Hotel

London, England

The size of the rooms has been commented on several times before and gosh!, mine was tiny indeed. Definitely one of the smallest inhabitable rooms worldwide. Yet I found that rather amusing and not very bothering - I came to see London and a great rock concert and just needed a bed to sleep. The staff was rather grumpy. Nevermind, the location is great, the place acceptably clean, and you won´t get a single room in London much cheaper than that.

Great location at the harbour front. Nice and helpful staff around. Wee backyard garden ideal for breakfast, especialy since there was very limited space at the jammed kitchen tables in the morning. Otherwise very fine place on a very lovely island.

Stirling Youth Hostel

Stirling, Scotland

The hostel is convenientely situated in Stirling´s Old Town near the Castle in an old church building. The 6-bed-room was clean with en-suite bathroom. Friendly staff. Spacious lockers in the rooms for the bagage. No luggage storage after check-out though, so I had to leave my backpack in the hall for a couple of hours. Otherwise a fine place.

Welcome Hostel Prague Center

Prague, Czech Republic

Conveniently situated about 5 minutes from the Wenceslas Square. Staff stayed longer in office to ensure I can pick up my key as I arrived late. My room was spacious and quiet facing a courtyard. Otherwise not very spectacular and no common rooms (at least I haven´t found them) but if you´re looking for a quite and clean place to stay, it´s a good choice.

very conveniently located in a quiet side road near bustling sauchiehall street and 15 min walk from central glasgow. very nice staff. unexpected fair price even for a single room in the midst of glasgow (with tv and breakfast). new carpets would be nice but I wouldn´t argue for that price. I would stay there again!

Hak's House Hostel

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Actually a nice place BUT I had the worst welcome ever there of my whole RTW trip. Arriving on the boat jetty, the tuktuk driver sent from the hotel told me the ride would be 4$ instead of the proposed 2$. So I instead shared another tuktuk with two tourists. At Hak´s, I had to justify myself to the owner several times for not taking the ride with the cheaty driver. I was tired and had a headache and didn´t see any point for that discussion. Thoroughly spoiled my arrival in SR. Shouldn´t happen!

Royal Hotel Battambang

Battambang, Cambodia
80%

clean and quiet place in the center of town with a nice rooftop restaurant, though rooms are compared to PP or SR just a bit more expensive. Staff tries to speak English, some less successful. Arriving in SR after my stay in Battambang I found the hotel had sent a tuktuk driver to pick me up from the boat station which I had not asked for and whom I did not need - part of the omnipresent scam in Cambodia. Otherwise fine.

Cliff Cottage

Best location you could wish for - I stayed in a small hut on top of cliff overlooking the sea & sunset. Place is as secure and clean as little wooden huts in a green outdoor area can be. Great bar area where the music was always played low volume not to disturb the people in the hammocks nearby. A very relaxing and friendly place. I'd definitely stay there again!

Zackry Guest House

Langkawi, Malaysia

good location just 5 min from the beach and in rather quiet surroundings. Room was clean and good value for money. Some friendly dogs and a self-confident duck add to the overall good expression. the only things that spoils it is the very grumpy owner who tries hard (and successfully) to behave unfriendly and not to smile. If you ignore him, I guess it's a good place to stay.

clean rooms, very good security, free basic breakfast. A drawback was the rather constant background noise in my room from I dunno what - soom kind of air conditioning? Also the matress was rather bulky and hard, didn't sleep too well there.

Nice and quiet place in a friendly neighborhood, a 5 min walk from the "town center" of Hanga Roa. We could neither lock our dorm door nor the windows but it didn't matter... I felt I' ve never been in a safer, more peaceful place before. Nice breakfast and airport pickup included.

The Capital-Inn

As a backpacker, I'd choose something different next time. Quite a long way from the bus station and the city, and with the windy and rainy weather it wasn't a pleasant walk. The 10bed-room I stayed in was right next to the kitchen, so there was always a lot of noise to be heard. No lockers. There was not even a bit of privacy in the showers as they were parted by glass screens (why?). Maybe the private rooms in the upper floors are more convenient, but this basement accommodation wasn't.

Residencia Miami

A very lovely building in contrast to the otherwise rather charmless surrounding. I stayed there because it is situated close to the Malaga airport and my flight left early next morning, otherwise I surely wouldn´t have chosen Torremolinos at all. But at least this charming hotel made the stay worthwhile. Would choose it again!

Hostal Andalucia

Located in a rather quiet street not far away from the center (5 min.), this is a nice and quiet place to dwell. Getting a room there was quite uncomplicated even when the hostals closer to the center were full already.
