Lucky D's

San Diego, USA

Great atmosphere, excellent staff, great breakfast included, awesome located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter (if that is what you're after). I LOVE the nightly activities organised and the free evening meals every Tue and Thur night. And it goes quiet after 11pm (except the common room if you still want to party) so you can get some sleep if you want that. I can't fault this place.

Sleep in Heaven

Copenhagen, Denmark

Good points: no curfew hot showers, rooms clean, staff very friendly and helpful and had a good time with them, music playing in bathroom is a nice touch Bad points: no individual light for your bunk, additional costs for bed linen, breakfast is pricey for 40 kr and not worth it, no alcohol allowed to be bought, bad location, people tend to read books in the common room, no tv or dvd, no kitchen, doors slam everytime they close waking everyone up all the time.

New World St. Hostel

Warsaw, Poland

Amazing place. Staff were very helpful and even packed us lunches before we left to the airport. There was free laundry use as well. Not to mention the good room. If i am back in Poland i would look this place up again.

Castle Rock Hostel

Edinburgh, Scotland

This is definately the best hostel i have yet been at. It is professionally run, even though they deal with so many people they are friendly and seem to know everyone personally. More than 1 common room, cheap breakfast in the mornings, best location (by the castle). They even have the bed done up for you when you arrive. No wonder this place is no.1 in Scotland.

Brussels Hello Hostel

Brussels, Belgium

Pros: Very helpful staff, large fairly clean rooms. Complimentary breakfast (cornflakes, bread, coffee, etc.) Cons: Located right next to a train station so the trains can wake you up. Not located in city centre. No lockers for security. NO REAL COMMON ROOM, so there is hardly a chance of meeting other travellers. No movie nights, pub crawl nights, etc. This is just a place to sleep and to do your own thing.

Tallinn Backpackers

Tallinn, Estonia

Excellent character, made me feel like i was in the film Hostel. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helped me with getting a taxi, retrieving my coat, and even looked after me when i drank too much. i did get 4 socks missing from the laundry though, and the walls are not soundproof so i could hear these rude guys talking yelling and snoring. This wasn't the fault of the hostel as such, i just had some bad luck. Overall, highly recommended, esp since its located at the heart of old town.

City Backpackers Hostel

Stockholm, Sweden

Staff were excellent and very helpful. Centrally located which is a plus.

Hostel One Sants

Barcelona, Spain

This was my first experience at a hostel due to my travel agent not being able to find anything in Barcerlona at a good price, and i have to say is i did not regret it! I have heard some shocking stories about hostels but this has none of those. Clean rooms, bathroom, toilet, REALLY friendly staff that will help you out no matter what. They even organise places for you to go out every night... seriously, no wonder this place gets so much praise. I´d go there again.
