Very clean, plenty of hot water, not a lot of internal noise--but the street noise can be bad. Price you pay for such a great location!

Great location right in the old town, just by some beaches and a short walk from the main beach. Very helpful staff, very clean, non-squeaky bunkbeds, everything else just as described by the hostel. No early check ins in the off season, though!
Very nice free breakfast, clean and airy room, clean bathroom. Great location right next to the train station (careful not to miss the street! If you get on the big touristy street full of restaurants, you've gone too far--it is RIGHT by the station) and thus a major boat stop. Not at all a hostel, so scores low on the fun points, but what can you expect of a hotel on that front?
Great breakfast, as everyone will say. Very close to train station, but still a decent neighborhood. Could do more to encourage socializing, maybe put a tv in the common room or have a movie night or something? Otherwise, perfect hostel experience. Reasonably comfy beds, nice and clean, no lockouts or curfew.
Not too long of a walk from the train station, but enough to get away from that gritty "train station" type neighborhood. Street noise is pretty loud. Breakfast is hostel standard, juice, cereal/muesli and cookies. Nice kitchen, though, and friendly public area for tv and movie channel-watching.
The hotel was located very near the cathedral and the quattro canti, and easy walking distance of every piazza in Palermo. Even walking to the port with luggage was only about 15 minutes. Staff is very helpful providing directions and information, and the rooms are very clean, well lit, and ours had a ceiling fan and balcony. The street noise was loud with the windows open, all night long, but the room stayed cool enough with the windows closed thanks to the high ceilings and the fan. We got a room with its own bathroom, but the corridor toilets looked clean, if small.
The hostel is excellently located, near clubs, a quick walk downtown, and right around the corner from the beach. Unfortunately, that also makes it VERY LOUD at night. Bring earplugs, or don't plan on getting any sleep. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, too.
