The 24hr aircon is great and the room was very clean. The location is very good. However, the toilets are out on the patio and there are only 2 showers for 3 rooms.

They only give you a pillow case and a mattrass cover, no top sheet but unfortunately it is not true when they tell you at reception that they wash the blanket after every guest. Otherwise I had a great stay and would recommend this hostel.

The walls are very thin so noise travels well, didn't really get a good sleep. Otherwise well organized hostel.

Clean but the water supply to the showers is weak. The staff is great, very helpful and they organize a shuttle to the Tongariro Crossing for $30 return. Fantastic views from the front of the hostel. Had a great time!

Nice and clean hostel, great showers. Recommend a car as it is a fair bit from the center, but quiet location and lovely views. Friendly staff.

Arrived at 1.45am and the staff was very helpful and friendly at check in. The location is great and hardly ever have I seen a hostel that is cleaner than this one. The down side is that you have to pay a $20 deposit to get a plate, cutlery and a cup but when you give it back in a good state you get the money back too. But this truely has to be the best hostel in Perth.

The dorms don't have locks in the doors. The cat is cute but whether it walking on the kitchen surfaces is so hygenic? The location is great tho, right in the centre of Dunedin and despite that there is not a whole lot of noise.

The location is very central but definitely the party location and bring ear plugs do drown out the sound of the bar downstairs.

There's carpet in the room and unfortunately the room was next to a construction site that starts at 7am. Staff is very helpful with booking tours and airport shuttle.

The showers and toilets are along the hallway and not in a seperate space. Not all of them are in use, so the ones that are used aren't always that clean. Rooms are spacious and staff is friendly.

Hi: I would have lept onto this issue straight away if I'd known there was a problem! As you say, we're friendly dudes in the hostel, and happy to sort out any problem, as long as we're told about them, at the time! On the subject of cleanliness: we spend a lot of time and energy keeping the hostel as clean as we can. We have consistently gained around the 95% mark for "Cleanliness" on Hostelworld (so, ermmmm... your mark in this category (2 from a possible 5) sits way below what most others seem happy to rank us at, on this category), but do find that communal showers can get dirty when they being put into use. (But I would have thought that that would be an issue in ANY communal amenities in any facility around the world. Things will tend to get 'dirty' when they are being used). For the record: we clean our showers, toilets and washbasins AT LEAST ONCE, every day. If you came across a shower that wasn't up to scratch, rest assured, we would have had it cleaned no-later than 11.00am. That is how we roll... We sometimes find that some guests come back to the hostel after they've been to the beach (we're very close to the beach, which can be both a blessing and a curse!) and they have clearly spent time washing down their bathing suits, wet-suits (etc) in the showers... and that can leave sand over the shower's floor. And - clearly - some guests levels of personal hygiene practice sometimes leave a bit to be desired. But, as a famous Australian outlaw once uttered: "Such is life". (Or, perhaps in the vernacular of those who stay in hostels, where shared amenities are the norm: "Such is life... in a hostel").

It has a great area to relax outside. Bikes can be rented and are a great way to discover the island. The woman who runs it is very helpful and friendly.
