2 minutes walk to the beach and main road. The air con in the dorm was lovely and cold! Too bad the staff didn't leave enough toilet paper in the dorm bathroom. One roll for 3 days isn't enough. I went out and bought some myself. Also the bin in the bathroom hadn't been emptied for several days and was overflowing. I also read another comment about this too! Better housekeeping, please!

Every room and corridor has bare grey concrete walls. Like a prison. So dark. The staff (one girl in particular) was so bossy. My bus turned up 10 mins early, and she came up to my dorm at 8am, yelled 'Hurry Up!! Bus is here!!' and stood in my dorm watching me pack my things in my bag. Totally unnecessary. Don't treat me like a naughty school child.. The staff are young Cambodian kids in their early 20's yet they are so serious and strict.

This place desperately needs air conditioning to be installed! The heat in the rooms was so bad, and 2 fans did nothing. I was in a private room, so God knows how hot in was in the dorm! Great bar and café, great music, great staff.

No dorms, so I had my own room with air con and TV. Staff are good, very helpful and friendly. Don't get your laundry/clothes washing done here though....mine came back as dirty as I sent it, and I needed clean clothes!! A good cheap place to stay in Siem Reap, but there are many hundreds of others.

Get some air conditioning in the dorm!! It's unbearable in the heat, especially as the tiny dorm has 6 people in a space meant for 4. Also, this place gets locked up at 9pm, so you have to go to other hostels and cafés even to get a bottle of water. Why close so early?!? There are lots of hostels and guesthouses along this road, this is just one of many. Nothing special.

The hostel was so small for the amount of people, the bathrooms are tiny, the rooms are cramped - 14 people in a dorm really the size for 8. The sheets for the bed smelled bad, and the staff aren't very good. There were some Brazilians being loud keeping everyone awake until 3am! Also, there are many Russian workers staying here, they take up all the chairs and space in the lounge, hog the TV and the laptops.

We did a big investigation to find out what happened. It turns out,u claimed that u paid to a previous administrator, then with our manager you sat down, looked at the video on our CC cameras, where you clearly promised to pay on the next day.So ur attempt to stay for free didn't succeed and u decided to write this review. There were no bad sheets,or Brazilians, or any of that.Hate to tell you how to live your life, but if you try to steal, make sure there are no CC cameras recording it. Cheers!

The bar and lounge are great, but as for staying here...well, its only average. There are better hostels in Reykjavik, like Hlemmur Square. Kex had old, unclean bathrooms and showers. Kex is really a bar, restaurant and hangout for locals, the hostel seems to come second. The travellers staying here get treated like an inconvenience. Locals rule here, sadly. It shouldn't be that way, Kex should cater more for the visitor and tourist.

A great place to stay in Bar. A 30 minute walk to the town centre. The rooms are excellent hotel standard, immaculately clean - rooms have a little kitchenette to make hot drinks and meals. The Kojic family offer free pick-up from the bus or train station - but they didn't pick me up as they thought I was arriving at 7pm, so was left waiting at the train station. I eventually got a taxi there for 5 euro. I will stay here again!

I enjoyed my 2 nights here. Nikola, the owner is a nice person, very friendly and helpful. The hostel is good, in a quiet residential area, 10 mins walk to the beach area. There is a supermarket and bakery and taxis at the end of the road. Thew were some American and Australian backpackers when I was here, who were hoping it would be a massive party place, luckily, it didn't turn out that way....and I was glad. Noise and drinking in the lounge until nearly 1.30am....but the door was kept shut.

Nice villa with pool. Quiet semi-rural location. My only real problem was the the noise from some other backpackers. There needs to be a 'no noise after 10pm' rule. One night I was kept awake until 1.30am (!!!) with a party and singing outside on the terrace. The staff did nothing about it! Some guests had to be up early at 7am for diving, walking or cycling. Not everyone was here to party. Respect that. The lack of noise control at night ruined what could have been a fabulous place to stay.

How the hell has this hostel got such high ratings?!? It's like a hostel in India or Asia. It's cramped, smelly, the beds are old, the bed sheets smell and the whole hostel is dirty. The floor under my bed was filthy with old rubbish. I had a huge bug crawling on me one night. The washing machine and dryer is located inside a bathroom(?). There is no kitchen, no fridge. There is no lounge and no chairs in the dorms. This place is really bad, especially for Europe.

The dorm for 6 people is tiny!! Also, this place is so hot!! Why is the air conditioning never on? It was 28 deg c and the room was like an oven!! Good points: A good cheap place to stay in Calangute. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. I like the idea of having a little kitchenette with worktop and sink. A 5 minute walk to the shops, 10 mins walk to the beach. Bad points: Could do with better direction signs: once you got past the Mira Hotel and into the little yard, you couldn't see the house as it is hidden by other houses and shacks. Also, the owner wasn't around at all - the long term German guest living upstairs checked me in!

Positive Points: Clean, comfortable beds, Good Location, Bar & Lounge Area is well furnished and decorated, Cheap drinks during Happy Hour. Negative Points: Could be Noisy with drunkards between 11pm and 4am - staff on reception did nothing about this when a complaint was made. Staff on reception not very friendly or helpful - every question or request seemed like it was too much for them. How about a service with a smile? Not at Jaeger's!
