Managed by the two young, motivated owners, this guesthouse is in a perfect location if you prefer staying in the modern district with the shopping malls etc, has lots of nice and cheap food options around and superb transportation (skytrain, airport link). Very clean, safe. With less than 20 beds capacity, it is cozy and ideal for making friends. Guys organize party nights, movie nights, eating out together so you can get as much fun as you'd like - and is a great base to start exploring BKK.
I keep on returning here as it's a great base for exploring KL and around. Cozy common area, clean bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, good internet, helpful staff. Great value for money.
Very professional, well managed place with great facilities (from free station pick-up service to a massive kitchen), nice bathrooms, and really, really awesome staff who'll give you maximum attention and all the help and advice and maps you'll ever need. Despite it being a big hostel, it still managed to feel comfortable. All in all, very good choice.
I only spent one night here in transit but I wish I had stayed longer. The hostel is very nice with some funky design touches, the dorms are comfortable, the kitchen is big and the common area friendly. The staff is great and the place is well cleaned. Near the train station (not the main Nagoya station but the other one nearby - this one is actually more convenient if you're coming from the likes of Tsumago/Magome hike or the Alps).
Walk into this hostel and become part of a family. Run by a friendly, travel enthusiast couple with an adorable son, this place has all the comfort and facilities that you may ever need and much more: a cozy, laid-back atmosphere and an amazing friendliness. You can ask anything about sightseeing around, hiking in the mountains or find the best onsens, you'll get all the information and help you need, even when it comes to planning your onward journey. In all, this place is just perfect.
Very convenient, nice place to stay if you decide to spend the night in Nara. The dorm room is cozy, the kitchen well equipped, the owner nice and helpful. The place is very clean. All in all, makes for a comfortable stay!
This place promises cheap bed and that it delivers on. The dorm is basic (and huge- can get loud in the night but of course that depends on the guests, not the hostel), there are lockers and a small yet useful kitchen, the internet is good and there is bicycle rental. The staff is relatively helpful and the place is clean. In all, wouldn't come here for the great vibes or the coziness but if you need a relatively cheaper stay in Kyoto it's not a bad option.
A nice, cozy little place in a good location. The dorms are basic but the facilities - laundry, fully equipped kitchen etc - are excellent. Comfy beds, no lockers. The staff are helpful and nice. The place is small and the kitchen and common area central, so it's great for meeting friendly fellow travellers. The hostel is in a residential area a short walk from a major train station so it's really convenient, though you'll need to take a train whatever you're visiting. Good internet!
This place all the advantages and disadvantages of being a big hostel. Nice big dorms, comfy beds, big lockers. Great housekeeping, bathrooms that are cleaned 24/7, professional booking service if you need one. On the downside, heavily overworked staff that's too busy to be motivated (though trying to be helpful at times), a big and impersonal common area that's as cozy or friendly as an average hotel's lobby. Bar seems to be fun though. Oh, and horrible, horrible internet quality.
Very good hostel. Nice clean dorms with clean bathrooms, great staff (especially the manager- she's fantastic, personally follows up on your requests - look for the girl with glasses around the reception), nice resto-bar which is the place to socialize too. No kitchen- but bar staff helpful with smaller requests. Internet OK. Hostel helped organize a personalized tour which was great. Cool location- set in a Hutong, 2-3 stations from major sights. In all, really good place to stay in Beijing.
Yes, the service might not be perfect (no English and reception girls not motivated - but the owner is very nice and tries his best at making up for this) but oh my gosh, the place is gorgeous. It looks like the set for a medieval Chinese movie and is located in the main street -plus you get a full Chinese breakfast in the price. Private room was great. All in all, I think it's good value for money and def a memorable stay (if you go for the building and location, not really the service.)
Very nice, professional place with clean dorms, comfy beds and ensuite bathrooms, nice lounge area and rooftop bar. More a hotel- concept than hostel so no kitchen facilities but the restaurant staff helps if you need a plate, spoon etc. -plus you get hotel-like service, the place is cleaned all the time, etc. Exceptionally helpful, knowledgable and friendly staff with very good English (thank you, Fangfang!). I ended up extending my stay by one day, not for Xi'An, but to chill in the hostel :)
Nice big dorms, good lockers, very uncomfortable beds. Good facilities (e.g. cheap laundry), bathroom really not a pretty affair though (BYO TP). Fantastic lounge with very good atmosphere. The place is run by young volunteers, their kindness and eagerness to help counterbalances their inexperience and occasional lack of information. Movie nights, chilling on the sofa, dinners together on a sharing basis - the hostel is not the most professional one but def feels like and episode from "Friends".
What a lovely place. A pleasant walk away from the town center (with very clear instructions about how to find it), it's quiet, peaceful, overlooking hills and farms. Comfy, clean dorms, rooftop terrace, lounge with DVD etc. Run by a couple who really make you feel as if you were part of the family, give you great hike/bicycle/onward travel etc advice. Great cooking - I loved the dinner and the family-style eating together. Peaceful place - it is not a party hostel! It's like being at home.
This hostel was my first stop on China and it provided me with the sense of comfort I needed :) It's basically a family-home concept with pretty good facilities, nice big air conditioned dorm rooms, very nice clean bathrooms and most of all a very helpful, knowledgeable host who'll be able to help you with the onward journey. The place is in a convenient location, great instruction on how to find it. All in all, the place is recommended.
Lovely place, right in the center of Lukang so you're sure to be within 15 walks max from any sight. Clean dorms, washing machine, all day A/C. The place is run by friendly, motivated people, ex-backpackers themselves, who are motivated by their dream to open this place and you'll feel this as soon as you enter - the presentation of the town and its sights, along with a personalized itinerary for you, beautiful sandwich for breakfast prepared by the owners, etc. Small place - with a big heart.
Cool, modern interior design, nice big kitchen, AMAZING bathrooms and clean, comfortable rooms with all day A/C. Very nice, helpful, knowledgable staff who are happy to assist you with everything incl. finding you accommodation for your onward journey! Great additional facilities- bicycle rental, washing machine with dryer etc. Good location- behind the train station but only a short walk away, with lots of cheap and good food around (university area). In all, really good value for money!
This is a lovely place. Cute, bright dorm rooms with colorful walls and nice view onto the mountains, custom-made bunk beds with your own fan and reading light and clean kitchen and bathrooms. Awesome common area- literally the living room in the house- with books and comfy couches where the guests and staff alike gather for lengthy chats. Free bicycles for rent! Great staff, nice and helpful assistants as well as cool owner, Jay. If I go back to Dulan, it will be for this place, nothing else.
Well-maintained, clean place with good facilities, in a great location. Given the hosts make it a point to introduce all guests to each other, ongoing friendly chats guaranteed in the lobby - as well as occasional piano playing in the evenings.... The highlight is the staff, two super-energetic ladies with advice on literally any issue or question you may have, making sure you make the most out of your stay in Taipei - and even help in arranging your onward journey. In all, higly recommended!
It's an amazing place. Excellent facilities (A/C rooms and dorms, modern showers, fully equipped kitchen, big lounge with entertainment etc) at a very fair price. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, the free breakfast is very generous (includes eggs, noodles etc), there's DIY laundry available on the spot and the staff is cool and genuinely there to make sure you have everything you need. I loved the friendly and comfortable vibe of the whole place. I want to go back!!
I loved it! The place is in the heart of Chinatown, the most important Hindu temple, Mosque and Malaysia's oldest Chinese temple are all in the same street within a 100 meter walk. The house itself used to be a Chinese merchant's home and the guesthouse retained its original character, making it a very unique experience. The place, as well as the owner are very laid back, don't expect entertainment, just chill out. Suggest the private rooms, dorms seem to have lots of mozzies. Great value!
I felt perfectly comfortable the moment I stepped inside this place. The staff is super friendly, helpful and welcoming, the hostel is in a great location is really good value for money. My single room was small but clean and well maintained and the bathroom, kitchen and other common areas are clean and inviting too. The internet is the fastest I've experienced during my 3 months in South East Asia so far. I ended up staying longer and returning there next week. In all, highly recommended.
Nice place at a pretty good location, close to the tourist destinations. Well maintained, good facilities. The staff is fabulous, helpful and fun, definitely the highlight of the place.
Nice location with stunning views onto the valley. Rooms basic. Staff nice.

Excellent location, great staff! Lots of fun. Definitely choose this place!
I spent a couple of nights in L Hostels in early June. The hostel itself looks great, the location is OK (cca 10 mins to subway, 15 mins from Central Park), the rooms are nice and clean and the rooftop terrace is great. More involvement from the staff would be appreciated though....All in all, I was quite happy I chose L Hostel for my NYC visit.
A really nice & quiet place in Kreuzberg. Very clean, staff helpful, good location.
I spent a wonderful week at the Cascais Beach House. I was amazed by the environment, the cleanliness, the rooms, the equipment, the services and most of all the people making this possible. Catarina, Paulo, Pedro, Enrique, Nazare, Lilly (hope the spelling is not too bad...) : congrats on a wonderful job done and many thanks for everything! I do recommend visiting Cascais Beach House on your trip in Portugal. Maybe you are lucky and you are there when one of the great BBQ parties happen next to the pool.....:)
