Equity Point London

London, England

I stayed at Equity Point about 10 days when I relocated to London and used it as a handy base to orientate myself around London whilst interviewing for work. A quick stroll to Paddington tube or Lancaster Gate tube, buses close by, shops including supermarkets all very handy. Security is tight, rooms are cleaned to a high standard and breakfast included is ample. Wifi expensive and unreliable so better to go to a local café to tap in for free. For a short stay it is a good, secure place.

Hostel Bella 269

Hostel which is light and bright, very clean and rooms spacious with large lockers underneath the beds. The beds, well, very comfortable and a real treat after staying in some really uncomfortable beds during my 6 week holiday. Staff varied from super friendly to somewhat indifferent. Good proximity to the centre, markets and the cool Santa Lucia area.

Che Lagarto hostel Buzios

A nice hostel behind big security gates, a 15 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to town centre. Staff are all super friendly at this hostel and made my stay much more comfortable. I was a little taken aback that the other guests were all South American and hence didn't have many people to speak English with. Although the staff, particularly Jeronemo and Mercedes, were wonderful and very inclusive. Jeronemo's caiparinhas were also second to none - delicioso!

Lemon Spirit Hostel

I stayed at Lemon Spirit after being referred to by friends. I am glad I did. The staff there are fantastic, particular thanks to Lucas and Nino for making me feel really welcome and giving me some great advice on things to do and see... and for the caiparinhas! The hostel has a great vibe and energy in line with the city of Rio itself. A mini stroll across to the beach as well as the cafes, restaurants and shops of Leblon. A good place for solo travellers to meet others.

On The Road Hostel

Buenos Aires, Argentina

The Juan's who run On the Road are absolutely fabulous and make this little hostel in Palermo a great place to be. They are really helpful and kind and Juan (the chef) actually cooked for a few of us on one evening (we split the cost). The rooftop area is nice for a pre dinner cocktail and to mingle with other guests. Internet access is available as is wifi. Palermo is a great neighbourhood with a wealth of restaurants, bars and boutique shopping. A must place to visit & THE hostel to stay!

Hostel Empedrado

Mendoza, Argentina

A good hostel, friendly and helpful staff who will arrange your tours and book taxis for you, internet access, kitchen and washing facilities. Located a 10 minute walk to centre of town and 100m from a supermarket, it is really easy to get around. Mendoza is a fabulous city with so much to see and do - definitely recommend skydiving with Adrian, horseback riding and bbq with the gauchos and winery visits. I will be back for more tastings!

Hotel Central Station

Milan, Italy

Great location in terms of closeness to Central train station, where there is a shuttle bus running to and from the airport (about 7 euro each way). Took about 20 minutes to walk into the centre to see the Duomo, Galleria Emanuelle II, La Scala Theatre etc, and a pretty straight forward walk. Would stay there again.

St Christopher's Berlin

Really good hostel in a handy location really close to train, and short walk (300m) to bus which goes straight to airport. Breakfast included is good and rooms, bathrooms and all common areas very clean. Had the token snorer in my room but hey, it happens when you share with 9 other people! Good choice and happy to recommend.

Very convenient location and ameneties at hostel also top class. Easy to buy food from supermarket 20 metres away and cook in the well equipped kitchen. All sights easily reached by foot. Good security. Overall would stay again.

Hotel Jorgensen

Copenhagen, Denmark

From outside looks promising... very good location close to metro and within walking distance of all sights/main areas. Hotel with hostel dorm rooms in basement area - no key to access main door or dorm rooms. Locker room looked a bit insecure and window from room went right onto street, with no bars, so thankful belongings weren't stolen! Really good breakfast which along with location made the hostel reasonable.

Seven Hostel

Sorrento, Italy

Beautiful hostel that appears more of a resort when compared to the very basic offerings throughout Europe. Nice free breakfast and beautiful areas in which to enjoy a drink or bit to eat. The rooftop terrace is unbeatable. Stayed 2 nights and would return.

Ulisse Deluxe

Central location and lovely hostel which is more like a hotel. Everything is additional however - breakfast, gym, pool, internet. good for 1 or 2 nights, but if longer best bet is somewhere else, or it gets pricey. a good base to explore sorrento and surrounding area.

Ostello della Pace

Assisi, Italy

Lovely location in a quiet area down the hill from the centre of Assisi, but a bit of a hike back in, so be prepared! Very clean rooms but hostel lacked a bit of character and warmth. Unfortunately had a rowdy group of 30 kids staying there who made it hard to sleep. Apart from that, all was fine.

Vertigo Centre

Funky hostel with outdoor area, cafe/bar and lounge, though located in a somewhat undesirable location. Spacious rooms but had to walk a long way to get to any decent places.

Ethic Etapes Dijon

Pathetic environment for a hostel - no common room to meet people, no access to kitchen (made bringing back ingredients to prepare dinner a waste of time!), and located a fair distance from centre of Dijon. Will not recommend and will not stay there ever again!

Hostal Alcazaba

Granada, Spain

Friendly staff made the stay tolerable, however the hostel is located at the wrong end of town... close however to the train station which is good. Not the typical hostel environment though as we did not meet any other travellers during our stay. No communal area, tv, internet or kitchen... Ok if you are travelling in a group but I wouldn´t recommend if going solo.
