It's a very basic place but only a few meters away from the park entrance. Location and the price are the best thing. It's run by na old lady and her family so it has the feel of a homestay. Simple but good home made cooking. Clean rooms, old bathrooms, hot shower, great views, nice garden. Internet is very slow.
A great place to stay in KK. Very kind staff with lots of tips for my trip to Borneo.
Friendly staff. Very close to the bus terminal.
The worst place I have ever stayed at. Should be closed. The bathrooms are a wreck. Staff is unkind. The rooms are old and very dirty. Sheets and blankets are disgusting. Booked it because Lonely Planet refers it but I regreted it from the start.
A nice HI hostel. The showers could be better and the thin blanket is not enough - I was cold during the 2 nights I spent there. Nice breakfast and good Internet in the common areas.
It's a nice small hostel. I had a great time there and made friends. The negative aspect is that there is some construction work going on and there is no kitchen available. The single room was very nice and worth the price but it would be nice if it had a curtain due to the light in the morning and a hanger. Nice hostel activities like tours (if the guide shows up) and beer tasting. Great atmosphere!
The rooms are nice, clean and well equiped although the drier was broken. However the kitchen is very poor - hardly any dishes, no glasses, few cutlery, the maintenance is bad, and everything is very dirty - The exhaustion system was absolutely disgusting, inside the cupboards too and there was water in the ground for days!!
Basically, in my opinion it's all a hostel should be: nice, comfortable and clean rooms; excellent shower and bathroom; great kitchen with everything you need to cook; wi-fi in the social area; a nice and trendy social space with great music and most of all, excellent staff - friendly, always available, with great tips and orientation for almost every single tourist attraction in Berlin. The only negative thing was that breakfast is no longer included although it was when I booked.
The staff was absolutely great from the time I checked-in until I checked-out - the best team I encountered in hostels for sure!!! The room was spacious and they provided a key to the locker and towels. The breakfast could be better - more than just to 2 toasts and a glass of orange juice would be nice. Good bathroom, warm water, silent AC, comfortable and silent rooms, wi-fi working everywhere and a nice lounge area with a vending machine, television and a computer.
Breakfast is not good and the cupboards in the room should be closable. Great staff and great location. Brand new facilities.
The prices at the bar should be lower than outside - it's a hostel after all. 3,85 for a beer is not okay!!
I know it's an architecture icon but not having anything to close the windows makes it very hard to sleep after 5am.......
I wish there was a close locker in the room so that we can put some stuff. Everything was fine specially the afternoon shift staff both at the reception as in the bar.
The hostel is well decorated but there is something wrong with the atmosphere since no one talks. If we try to be nice and say a few jokes they look at you as if you had a mental problem. There was a problem in one of the shower areas and there was always water on the ground. The most disappoining thing about the hostel was the quality of the bunks (very bad) and the noise the doors made - which meant that as soon as the first person wakes up you can no longer sleep. Location is bad.
The room wasn't clean. The blanket was dirty and only had one sheet the first night. Everything else was okay. Great location near Red Light District but it was hard to find.
The location is great - 3 minutes away from Ueno-hirokoji subway station. But difficult to find on first day. Go out in this station, walk down the road until you find a very small garden and turn right here. Walk 1 minute and you are there.
