Fantastic staff, very helpful and good local knowledge. Great conversion of an interesting building into a hostel. Could do with personal lockers for peace of mind but otherwise no complaints. Would come back.

Mosaic Hostel

I'd stayed in the Barcelona Mosaic so thought I'd try the Rome Mosaic. Similarly the staff were really helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The location's good and walking distance from most of the sights in Rome. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Only real thing letting the place down is the communal living space which is a bit functional, but I suppose they tried their best with what they had, ie old town house of flats - wasn't ever intended to be a hostel so can't really fault them on this!

I have some good memories of La Choza. The social area/kitchen and hammocks are all open planand created a social atmosphere when people were buzzing about. The manager Eli, was friendly and helpful and the location is very handy, 2 minutes from the beach and the bus stop in the opposite direction. The big let down was security. There are keys to the room but I wasn't given one and there is nowhere to put your valuables if you are staying in a dorm or camping. Also bring in food from outside!

It's a really fun place. Bit daunting if you're on your own, you arrive and it's all kicking off, but doesn't take too long too get involved. Pedro was cool, but other staff seemed a bit detatched, probably the endless partying! Very nice crepes from Mama!

I left with a massive good feeling. Thanks so much Hugo, Miguel, Joanna and Abel. You have created a great hostel/surf camp/retreat. Everyone is so friendly and puts you at ease straight away so you can really feel that you are on holiday.
