Anandamayi Hostel & Hotel

Bogota, Colombia

This hostel is one of the best in Colombia. It is not a party hostel. It attracts a variety of people and the energy is excelllent for chlling out. It is very safe. Lock boxes. The staff is wonderful. Breakfast is served early. Warm beverages always available. Dorms roomy. Lots of hammocks. Good location. Newspapers every morning. Have stayed here four times and will return. Never have heard a negative comment about it. It is like a home away from home. A great place to return to after being out

Alegria's Hostel

Bogota, Colombia

Alegria is a good choice in general. However if you don't like dogs, go elsewhere. There are lockers to store your things for safekeeping, but you need you own lock. Many hostels in Colombia require that you provide your own anyhow. The breakfast includes coffee, fresh fruit, rolls and fresh juice. It is best to get up not too late or else you will miss the meal. The staff are really welcoming and will help you any way they can. The kitchen is well stocked and the fridge has space for your food.

Mochileros Hostel Villavicencio

Villavicencio, Colombia

It is possible that the hostel offers more than what I found, but while there it was party city. While the place may be owned by a family, they do not live there and most of the other comments are totally outdated. The hostel is clean. The front gate is secure. There are no lockers for safekeeping. There are scooters to use to get around. Breakfast is offered, but I did not get it as the staff was sleeping in. The staff is knowledgeable about the area. The information on the website is old.
