Really cool little hostel! The staff was super friendly and helpful and really wanted you to feel at home here! Big common room and a nice little kitchen, the girl's bathroom had a dressing table and some toiletries for everyone to use - what a luxury for a backpacker like me ;) Again - great atmosphere, met a lot of nice people. And I hope the coin collection on the wall grows and grows! :)
Great hostel! Big rooms, I especially liked the curtains on the bunk beds - gave you a bit of privacy! Showers, toilets, etc were always clean, nice little kitchen and a cute cafe on the first floor. The staff was also very friendly and helpful :) Had a great time here! Will definitely recommend this place!
Awesome little hostel! Really nice and friendly staff (special thanks to Colin!) - they really want to make you feel at home. Big and well equipped kitchen, nice lounge, clean bathrooms, comfy beds - and so many things for free! If you're ever going to Port Macquarie I would definitely recommend this hostel! :)
Really nice chilled out hostel! Awesome location - so near to the beach. It's not located very centrally, but you've got the free shuttles every hour or so. Nice, basic rooms, nice lounge and outside area! Staff is also very friendly. Keep up the good work guys!
Nice little hostel with a very good location! Really helpful and friendly staff. Common room, kitchen bathrooms and the dorms were alright, I can't complain! ;-) The only thing that was a bit annoying were the creaky bunkbeds - I felt like waking everyone up when I was turning in my bed. But oh well, apart from that - good hostel!
The hostel was good, an average yha. The staff was very helpful with planning the hiking trips and it was very good that you could rent hiking gear there (from clothes to shoes, crampons, ice axe etc...) The only annoying thing was that they don"t really have a lounge for people to hang out, just a small, small tv room hidden away in the last corner of the hostel :(
Pentlands is an awesome hostel! The staff is really nice and helpful and everything is really clean and well maintained. Big kitchen and much space to meet fellow travellers! I will definitely come again when I'm back in Auckland... :-)
1983 has been one of the best hostels I've been to so far! Erick, the owner, is ever so nice and helpful! Actually everyone staying there was really friendly. It felt like being part of a big family :-) The dorms and beds and showers were very good and clean - the curtains for the bunk beds are a great idea btw! Free WIFI plus a massive TV, if you wanna stay inside. The location is a bit tricky to find when arriving, but once you've understood how the streets are numbered it's pretty easy.
athmosphere very sterile - lounge was uncomfortable, no one wanted to hang around there so you couldn't get in touch with other travellers. bed sheets and matresse smelly and stained. no real bed sheets, just woollen blankets (too cold). showers are closed 10-13.30 - what about people on holiday who want to sleep longer?! same problem with breakfast time (until 9.30 am - come on!!!!) wi-fi didn't work, signal was only available in the lounge. very poor.
