Goodnight Vondelpark

A slightly unusual set up for a hotel/hostel, we stayed in a room in a shared apartment. Having said that, everything about it was excellent, the room was large, clean and comfortable, and the fruit left for us in the room was a lovely touch. The location was slightly outside of the city centre, which was an advantage for us, as it was quiet and there were lots of lovely cafes and restaurants very close by. It was also an easy tram ride or a pleasant walk through the park to the city centre.

This hostel was lovely, big dorm rooms with plenty of space, curtains around the beds and lockers big enough to fit bags in. The common areas had lots of seating and an outdoor area, and the breakfast was good for being included in the price. There were some comments about the area in other reviews, but I never felt unsafe walking to the hostel on my own. Overall would definitely recommend this hostel

This hostel had both good and bad points. The location was very good, close to everything in London. The kitchen and breakfast were nice to be included, the beds were comfortable and the WiFi worked well throughout my stay. However the rooms were very hot as the small windows only opened a couple of inches and the lockers under the beds didnt close or lock properly, although there were small lockers at reception for valuables which made up for this. Overall would recommend this hostel.

Hlemmur Square

This was a clearly a hostel set up for travellers, with everything anyone could want from a hostel. Dorms were big with comfy beds and lockers, the bathrooms and kitchen were always spotlessly clean, and the showers even had shower gel and shampoo! The hostel was a bit quiet, didn't meet anyone else while I was there, but all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this hostel for anyone travelling to Reykjavik, thanks to Hlemmur Square for a great stay!
