Very cool place, with a rather flash bar and clean dorms. Would highly reccomend this place for a stay in Tokyo.
Staff were really friendly and helpful, with many suggestions on how to get around and what to visit in the City. Place was clean and plesant, with good transport links and a chilled out atmosphere. Would reccomend it if you are looking for somewhere to stay in this part of Tokyo.
Location really close to the station, and tram lines, so easy to find and get around the town and surrounding areas. Not all that much to do in the area around the hostel though. Staff were friendly and the place did seem well run. Has a couple of common rooms and good shared showers. When I was there the hostel was pretty quiet in the common areas, despite being pretty heavily booked.
Great shared dorms, a bit more pricey than some places, but really comfortable. Cool designer interiors throughout, and great showers. Location, close to a metro station, but not really in the thick of things in the centre of the city. Probably about 30 mins walk to downtown where the famous nightlife is located. Was there mid week and it was pretty quite, , might get a bit more lively at the weekend. Staff very friendly and helpful, place seemed well run, clean and stylish.
Nice little Guest house within walk/ biking distance of the main attractions of the town, and easy to find from the train station. Found the staff to be friendly and helpful, organised for a group of us to get an introduction to the town from some local students. Would reccomend the place, they made my stay really plesant.
Huge hostel, with an on site pretty cool bar, huge common areas and kitchens etc. Not in the most picturesque part of the city, but easy to get to from the station, and had no problems finding my way to the sites of Kyoto. Was clean and clearly well run, almost more like a hotel than a regular hostel.
Stayed in a mixed dorm and the place was clean and warm, with decent showers. Hostel did not have much of a common area and at night you don't really have a place to hang out without being an annoyance to others trying to sleep. Excellent location right next to the Gion district, and within walking distance of downtown. Excellent Sake bar acts as a daytime common area, and the staff were friendly and helped us choose some of the many available Sakes to sample, and places to visit in the city.
Staff were very friendly and showed us where to go in the local area to have a big night out. Hostel is well located, and though the common area was a bit rough around the edges, was clean and seemed well run. Enjoyed staying here for my first couple of days in Tokyo! Not as stylish or cool as some hostels, but loads of beds means its easy to get a place to sleep, even on those tricky weekends in Tokyo where everywhere seems to be booked up!
Enjoyed my time here, close to Copacabana beach and the Metro, with cafes and restaurants in the local area that were easy to get to. Rooms vary greatly in quality from plesant enough to pretty dissapointing, so make sure that you don't get one of the bad ones... Staff tried to give advice on transport etc, and for the most part were helpfull. Did at one point, however, recieve some incorrect advice on getting to the airport that almost made me late for a flight, so double check!
Location for getting to and from the falls could not be better, across the road from the coach station, so great for the weary traveller. Nice areas to lounge around in when the weather is good, and decent lively bar. Rooms are a bit run down, and others I spoke to had non functioning / broken showers and toilets. Breakfast included was easily the least good that I have had in my travels in South America, very basic. Still, not a bad place overall, good base from which to visit the falls.
Easy to find, a block from the bus terminal in the centre of the city. Place was clean and secure, making it a good base from which to spend a day and visit the Brazilian side of the falls. Nice little pool and chill out area. Better breakfast than most. Staff were friendly and helpful, with good advice on booking things and getting around.
Overlooking Lagoa, and within close walking distance of the beach, Sunset is a large resort style hostel, with staff keen to organise club nights and day trips. Nice building, with a little pool and a leafy garden feel to it. Decent, if a little bit pricey food. Staff were fun and helpful, though it seems like they were undervalued by the changing management. Bathrooms a bit short on supply, and it could have been cleaner in places.
Clean, secure and well run, Vila Madalena Hostel was a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay in Sao Paulo. Great breakfast. Staff were friendly and always happy to help, though one or two were at times a little bit eccentric. 15/20 mins of hilly walks to the metro train station. Area of the city has some fun Salsa venues, restaurants and places to get a drink.
Located in the Lapa neighbourhood, Books had an enjoyably chaotic atmosphere to it, with a fun alternative crowd come to the area to enjoy the street parties and Samba clubs of the area. Well positioned for exploring Lapa and Santa Teresa, and with a 10 / 15 min walk to the underground, not a bad base from which to spend your time in Rio. The area has a bit of an edgy feel to it, which is part of its appeal, but which might put off the more nervous traveler. Further from the beach than many.
Really liked this place, good location and transport links, lively enough, clean and professionally run.
Place was fine, decent enough location, within walking distance of the main city centre stuff, 24 hr bar, helpful staff.
Good place overall. Lots of little things show they are a well run and slick operation, huge hostel maybe a little bit impersonal, but i was only there for a couple of nights. Many activities organised by the hostel and things to do ( few of which i got to experience). No drinking on site though. They do organise pub crawls to make up for this.
Only stayed 1 nigt, and didn't spend allot of time in the hostel. What i did see seemed well decorated (a bit of character) tidy and seemingly well run. Very large room, so might be a bit difficult to get a good nights sleep. Small lockers, for valuables only i guess. Still overall if you arelooking tostay in williamsburg, sample some of its cultural scenes, this is a good place to be in.
Excellent location right next to Columbus Circle, easy walk to many of the midtown attractions such as time square, roccafella centre, central park. Compact communal area, not really much space to just hang out. ( but im sure you could manage it) Good sized kitchen to cook in. Place seemed fine and if this kind of location is your number one priority, go for it. If not i would suggest going somewhere else with a bit more character. No complaints here though, positive experience
Top place, could not recommend it enough. Great chilled out communal areas with big screen tv\'s, friendly staff, within walking distance of the big tourist sights of the city. If i were to stay in d.c again, would head straight down here. Good homely vibe too, if i had to stay in the city for a while (internship or such like) i would definitely give it a look.
Top location in the middle of the East Village, no complaints really. A reasonable place to stay in this part of the city
Reasonalble locaiton near to columbia and central park, also the underground syste, meaning you can get anywhere in the city reasonably easily. Big communal area in basement, overall no real complaints. No kitchen, and the music selection in the communal area was a bit dodgy ( there are evidently some big limp bizkit fans in the staff, shudder). Positive experience overall. Dorms are very lacking in character. Communal areas fine though.
Found this place fine, no complants really, had a decent crowd, friendly enough staff, free arcade game in the bassment... Location fine, near to underground station and local shops/bars/ cafes/ central park
Fun hostel, with helpful and friendly staff. Good location.
A pleasant enough hostel, reasonable breakfast and rooms. Was however somewhat lacking in character, and the location was not ideal, as it was a little bit out of the way. Also shower areas not did not really have anywhere to get changed/dried. Good for a quiet nights sleep.
I enjoyed my time there, the hostel\'s communal areas were sizeable and lively, the staff friendly and helpful. There was a mix up with my room booking for the second night, but the staff did all that they could to help sort it out.
Excellent hostel, good central location. Liked the rooftop terrace area, nice place to spend a hot afternoon relaxing.
Good location, quite nice room. At the time I was there was not much really going on.
Great, great location, right in the centre of the city, within close walking distance of many sources of entertainment and things to see, plus right next to a metro line. The only potential problems that I could see were that there were very few bathrooms for the number of guests, and there was no real communal area, just the kitchen, not really a place to hang out and meet people. Breakfast was toast and drinks, nothing else available.
Excellent location if you want to see the entertaining Montmartre area, plus right next to one of the excellent Paris metro stations. Great breakfast. Not got a propper common room, just seating in reception and computer areas, but still I found it to be social. Some staff were more helpful than others. No lockers, so if you don\'t trust those in your dorm, you won\'t be happy with the security. As it was, I had an excellent bunch in my dorm.
Whilst the location cretainly was not bad, it was a little bit out of the way from the main sites, but close to a metro anyway. Nice, clean, new hostel with big communial area, and staff I found to be friendly. No real cooking facilities, just a microwave and kettle. No oven or pots and pans to cook your own food with despithe the presence of 2 hobs.
Good location, friendly staff, reasonable kitchen, nice room. Liked it.
Good central location in Torun, and staff I found to be very friendly and helpful. Dorm rooms were not wonderfull, and did not have much of a communal area, just the reception/breakfast area. Kitchen had no oven. Whilst I was there the free internet computer was not working, but the staff let me use the one behind reception, resulting in many people entering the hostel, assumning i worked there and asking me things in Polish!
Excellent location, right on the old town square, with pretty views and close access to things to do/see. Found the staff friendly and helpful. Strange, one key per dorm system, handing in keys to reception, but not too bad. Nice little communal area. Ok breakfast, but not great.
Excellent location, lots near to see and do. Very good communial area to meet people and hang out, with reasonabally priced bar, food etc. Good kitchen. Did find it rather noisy on my second night, very close to a nightclub of some sort, didn\'t sleep so well on my second night as a result.
