Guesthouse Mary, Dubrovnik, Croatia

We had a great time here. The room was perfect for what we needed and the hosts were lovely. The location was a pleasant surprise - Lapad is such a great part of Dubrovnik. We walked, within 5 mins, to a promenade lined with excellent bars and restaurants (which were cheaper than the Old Town too), and at the end of the promenade was a beach. The local beaches are gorgeous - we spent our time at Copacabana and Cava beach (at the Coral Beach Club). The old town is a short bus ride away (10mins).

The location is great - the apartment is really close to the Old Town and the apartment we stayed in was well equipped with a kitchen, washing machine, TV etc. The hosts were really helpful and friendly.

We had a great stay here. The staff were really friendly and so helpful and the location of the hostel is great! Only a five minute walk to the waterfront and a short walk to the old town. The four bed dorm was comfortable and the swimming pool is gorgeous. Definitely recommend it!

The location is great, near two beautiful beaches and a strip of cafés and restaurants. The pool is lovely too. The only downside is this feels more like a hotel than a hostel, which is fine if that's what you're after. For us, the families in the pool and kids running around wasn't what we'd been looking for. We'd booked a three bed room, but it was a single & double bed so we switched to the dorm (room 5) & the beds were the worst we've slept in, super uncomfortable, but the room was ok.

The overall rating of 84% for this place is misleading. The dorms are in a really bad condition, the beds have got thick plastic covers with awful sheets on top so they are not very comfortable. We had booked a four bed dorm but were put into a 13-bed dorm, which had been set up in the reception of the hostel which a thin wall that went up two-thirds of the way to the ceiling so the dorm room got all of the noise and light from the reception and the common room next to that. No locks either.

This hostel was fantastic! New with great rooms with aircon and lockers, a gorgeous pool at the back and really friendly staff. We loved our time here and I would highly recommend it.
