The staff were very friendly. Offering me a drink and watermelon on arrival. Was moved to a place near by that was like an apartment. It had a lounge room to chillout. Air con throughout offering relief from the heat. Very quick walk to get down to the old town

Very nice hostel. If you're looking for an early night sleep, then some nights can be a little noisy with the music. Overall a very good hostel, relaxed by day, plenty going on most nights

Lacked atmosphere. It may have been the nights that we were there. Nobody was around really. We were drinking alone in the terrace area. The bar was just a bench, so it was just pretty much beers out of the fridge. Location great for the area. Staff organised a taxi for us and were very helpful.

We were put in a shoebox room, with no windows. Think it was the worst hostel room I've ever stayed in. The showers were average, you had to keep hitting the button every 10 seconds, really annoying when you are hungover. Location was great.

Fantastic hostel. It is an experience in itself. I have never stayed anywhere like it. You wouldn't really call this a hostel. Bar upstairs above dining area is nice and chilled. Bull bar opens out back @ about midnight and it's partly open air with fire. It's more like a club. It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach, however there are buses. Food was quite good. Activity centre was great. Bayams, which is the other tree house hostel, didn't look as fun and didn't have as much character.

I came late both times I stayed here. The guy at the desk didn't really know what he was doing and seemed confused. The rooms were massive but fairly basic, with old stand fan and sweaky door. Bar up top looked cool, but on a couple of people were there around midnight when I got up there. Hostel is fairy run down, but I guess it's a trade off for a bit of character.

Booked provate room through hostel but got put up in Dakota Hotel around the corner. Was still able to have the free breakfast at the hostel. Nothing really wrong with the hotel, just nothing that great.

Hostel will a lot of character.Common areas were 2nd to none with pool, music, bar, pool table and TV's (free to air/DVDs).Location is a little out of the way,but only a 15min walk.Staff were really friendly and informative.Entry outside the room was underwater some of the time.Rooms were big with air-con,but beds were basic, they are bunks that rattle and squeek,so if you have someone moving around you will be shaken. Also no lockers in room, but you can get staff to place your things in a safe.

Wombat hostels are one of the best I've stayed in. Very clean, very organised, good bar with happy hour, complimentary drink, spacious rooms, ensuite bathroom and you can meet loads of people.

Very limited bathroom facilities, toilet/shower in the one room, shared amongst 24 people. Cool bar, cheap drinks. Close to train station, a bit of a walk o town otherwise tram is right there and easy to use. You can hear the cars go by out the window, which needs to be open otherwise it'll be too hot.

Just average place to stay, nothing really that wrong with it, just lacked a bit of atmosphere. Communal room with TV and DVDs was available if that's your thing. Just your basic beds and side table and place to hang your jacket in the 4 bed doorm.
