Good hostel! It's in the city centre but not in the crowded touristy area, it has big dorm rooms with good beds and lockers. Toilets and showers all-right. Staff is very very nice and helpful! And the common room is good (although a few more fires for cooking would be much better!). Good choice overall!

Mini Hostel Lviv

Lviv, Ukraine

Good place at the heart of Lviv. The dorm room is ok, with good beds and lockers and the shower room is huge! There's not a lot of space for seating down, but the fun is outside in the city! The kitchen is well equipped. Good option!

Yard Hostel & Coffee Shop

We stayed in the double room (with balcony!) and it was an excellent choice, good value. It's central and in a very convenient location in a pedestrian street, and although it has a café downstairs, it's not noisy. The kitchen is well equipped, everything is very clean and the staff is nice. So definitely a place to come back to!

Chisinau Chill Hostel

Chisinau, Moldova

This place is new and very well looked after! We stayed 2 nights at the 10-bed dorm: comfortable beds, space is ok and it has lockers. Although the place is small, facilities are good. Also, it's just a few minutes away from the main street, yet it's in a quiet back street. Staff is really nice and helpful!! Overall, great option in Chișinău!

Great place at the heart of old Alacant, with very nice and helpful staff! Rooms are clean, well kept and quite large. Woke up too late for breakfast, so no opinion on that. They let me and my friend change our reservation at short notice, which was very kind. Overall a really good choice!

Nice place very near OR Tambo Int'l Airport (15mins by car), in a quiet area. It's not clearly marked, but once we got in, the friendly, easy-going couple who runs it made us feel quite comfortable. Facilities are ok, the pool looked good (too cold to try it!) and the breakfast (not included) was filling. Good option!

Apartamentos 4A Uno

Madrid, Spain
94%

We were 2 couples that spent 2 nights at Apartamentos 4A Uno, and we had a really good stay. Arturo, the owner, is a generous man that will try to help you with everything and make you feel comfortable. The apartment is not huge but is cosy, well arranged, clean and has all the usual services (including wifi, towels, linen...), and it's placed in a great area of Madrid, 2 minutes walking from Noviciados tube station and around 12-15 minutes from Puerta del Sol. Definitely, a great choice!!

This is a good place both for a one-night or for several-days stay in Donostia: many rooms, spacious, good facilities, good value and at the heart of the heart of this great city!!

You can't go wrong: Ganbara is a great hostel in all senses: right at the heart of Bilbo, well run by friendly staff, clean, well organized, fairly spacious rooms, many toilets and showers, good kitchen with common area... and quite good value for money!

Stray Cat Hostel

Good hostel, with nice, helpful staff! Rooms are spacious and clean, and there are toilets/shower in every floor. The entrance/lounge is a good place to chill out and meet other travellers. It's just a 3-4 minutes from the tram and a short way down from Taksim. Overall a good option!

Very convenient hostel if you're catching a flight in early morning, as you can literally walk to the terminal! When we arrived there wasn't anyone, but by ringing the bell it called the girl who takes care of it, opened the door for us, and came later for the check in. The rooms are new, clean and spacious, and there's a kettle and coffee/teas for free. Although we booked 2 beds in a 4-bed dorm, we were given a double.

Hostel San Marino

San Marino, San Marino
89%

Probably the best hostel option in San Marino: cheap, good value, helpful staff, reasonably spacious dorm room, clean toilet and showers. It provides free coffee/tea. It's right in front of the dual carriageway Rimini-San Marino (but it's not noisy), and so it's very convenient if you travel by car (free parking, easy to go to the old town). There's a 5€ supplement if you don't have your own sheets/sleeping bag. Definitely a place we'd choose again if we visited this nice country again!

Hotel Imperial

Bologna, Italy
89%

Modern hotel in the outskirts of Bologna, which can be very convenient if you have a car (free parking), as it's close to the 'tangenziale' and the 'autoestrade', and at the same time, it's easy and quick to go to the city centre (there's also a city bus which stops right in front of the hotel). Very good rooms, ensuite, with a good, large bed and a balcony. The buffet breakfast is superb and varied. Staff is helpful. Very good value for money.

Emerald Fields

Florence, Italy
89%

Booked 2 beds in a 3-bed dorm, but were given a spacious & very nice double ensuite in a different, brand-new place right in front of Basilica di San Lorenzo: absolutely the best 'value for money' room you can get! There's an oven & microwave but no cooking facilities. Breakfast was a coffee/tea & 2 toast with jam & chocolate-spread. Strictly speaking, there is no free parking at the hostel: street parking in this zone is "residents only", but there are "blue zones" not too far. Helpful staff.

Eurostudent home

Florence, Italy
74%

Convenient hostel in a great location, helpful staff and probably one of the cheapest places to stay at the heart of old Florence. Some rooms are much larger than others (ours -a 10-bed dorm- was a bit too cramped), and there are just two toilets/showers for 50-60 people, so queues are way too long.

This is a very well run, new backpackers guesthouse just a few meters from the beach in Saranda, near the port. Tomi is an excellent host who makes you feel very comfortable. Breakfast is good, and rooms are spacious and with a convenient balcony.

Journeys Brighton Hostel

Brighton, England
83%

It's a fairly well-run place, and looks quite new. Mattresses are good, and beds come with curtains, two plugs and light! There are many toilets and showers, breakfast is very decent and free wi-fi quite useful. It's in a great part of Brighton, in walking distance of everything! Only complaint is the quality of the 'structure' of the bed: well too noisy. Also, although it is generally very clean, it does stink a bit (maybe because rooms are a bit too crowded).

Bath Backpackers

Bath, England

We stayed for a 'stopover' of just one night, but it was good: the room is spacious, and the showers good. The kitchen is also quite useful, and it is in an unbeatable spot! Only the bed was a bit too low quality (could feel many springs...), but managed to sleep, so that's fine... I'd probably come back.

Erasmus Hostel

Istanbul, Turkey

A very unconventional place and a good choice if you are in a really tight budget, specially if travelling alone! The owner is an easy-going guy who is making an effort to improve the place. The common area upstairs is cosy, and he will let you use his laptop and internet. It's just 3 mins. walking from the Karaköy tram and the tünel stops, which is very convenient! Overall it's a good choice for those who do not fuss a lot about staying in a very simple place for a few nights...!

Smart Russell Square

London, England
80%

The big dorm rooms have lower, middle and upper berth and are really packed together. However, beds are ok, and each of them have curtains. The breakfast is as basic as it can be (toast, butter, jam, tea & coffee) but is not bad. Being just behind Russell Sq tube station and at 11 euros a bed, it is indeed a really good option... at least for a few days!

Bokun Guesthouse

It was great to stay at Toni and his family's hostel! He welcomed us with a smile and a glass of his own good wine and had a nice talk about Croatia and gave us some useful tips. Stayed in a double room with shared bathroom (shared with just one more room). The house is surrounded by allotments and is very quiet and peaceful. Definitely a place to come back to, very worthwhile for its excellent quality-price ratio!

Good place to stay! Rooms are ok, very clean. Breakfast is continental, and you can use the kitchen at any time. Free tea and coffee! The hostel is just a couple of minutes from very lively streets full of tapas bars and restaurants, and just 5 minutes from Plaza Nueva, Calle Elvira, etc. Ideal! A bit noisy, with the usual drunk bunch of friends who do not have any respect for the others... We suggest they should tackle that more strongly. Definitely a place we'd come back!
