Sivalai Place

Bangkok, Thailand

Sivalai Place is located in a quiet suburb, that is pleasnat to stroll around and there are plenty of street food options nearby. Though not close to tourist attractions they are easily reached by public transport.. They provide a wealth of information on what to see and do in both Bangkok and Thailand. The smiling staff are always ready to help with any queries. The excellent pool and gym are a bonus. The rooms are large, clean and well maintained.

This is a great place to stay when catching a plane from Hewanorra airport. They will arrange pick-up and drop-off. It is near the banks, supermarket and bus station. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Daisy and Clinton. The rooms are clean and spacious with varying levels of kitchen facilities. Wifi worked well.

Eco Pousada Miriti

Belem, Brazil

This pousada was a litle oasis in the middle of Belem. There is an attractive front and rear garden, with plenty of cover when it rains. The rooms are clean, modern and spacious. Breakfast was a real treat in particular Nice's tapioca pancakes. The staff were all pleasnat and helpful and very patient with my limited Portugese. It is conveniently located to the main plaza and a large shopping centre.

This is a top notch little hostel located close to the bus station in Foz. The staff were amazing, the most helpful and knowledgeable in 6 months in South America. They even put out breakfast an hour early so we had something to eat before our early flight..

Nasca Trails Hostel

Nazca, Peru

Are stay at Nazca Trails was fantastic. Juan was a great host and his guides were knowledgable and spoke excelelnt English. The breakfast was one of the best we have had in South America and our laundry was cleaner than it has been for 18 months. Only quibble would be that a fan in the room would be nice on hot nights. He also arranged for our transfer to Paracas and lima, which went so smoothly.

Milhouse is a beautifully converted old mansion, close to the centre of town. the dorm beds are great with privacy screens, your own ligth and storage shelf. The breakfast is plentiful. The free Saturday walking tour with Luis was very good. The staff of the hostel were friendly and helpful. However the staff at the tour desk were unhelpful and mostly disinterested in doing anything other than sell the standard packages. Both tours we booked went wrong on several levels.

Vaianny Guest House

Easter Island, Chile
77%

Easter Island is expensive and Vaianny represented good value for money for this destination. Located just off the main street so well situated for any activity in town. The breakfast was slightly changed each day and always included fruit, cereal and cheese. The host was extremely helpful and we appreciated the orientaion drive around town after pick-up at the airport. He waited for us even though it took 2 hours to get through customs. The recommended guide Cecilia offered wonderful tours.

This is lovely hostel well located in downtown Cairo. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet. There is a lovely little cafe downstairs and the man running the drink stall is very nice. The local tours are excellent, Moussa our driver provided us with a great introduction to Cairo.

The location was great directly opposite the reef. The rooms were really nice. However there was only one staff member with English and he was so busy that he didn't have time to provide any information. Meals were of varying quality and quite often several requests had to be made. Breakfast was excellent.
