cheap and pretty unclean, but i guess you get what u pay for. but for what the money's worth then i do expect clean bedding, non-flooding bathrooms and staff who's not so grumpy and also a bit more knowledgeable about things in the area.

it's a nice place to stay for a couple of days if u're tired of cape town! go and explore cape point, see the penguins and spot a whale!

one of a very few hostels that actually offers free wi-fi. unfortunately just one safe to keep your valuables in and even that was in the office, so that means you could only access it during the office hours. otherwise it was pretty safe, with spacious rooms and clean bathrooms.

New Cross Inn Hostel

stayed there last year, not much has changed since then, but must say that it seems to be bit more cleaner than before! still freezing in bathrooms tho n squeaky beds, but not too bad for the price you pay.

comfy beds, warm, friendly staff, kitchen could be a bit more bigger, but overall pretty good!

Dover Castle Hostel and Bar

Good location, but lack of security! I was happy not to get anything nicked, unlike some other people. Overall it was pretty clean, but you could do with more showers and toilets. And the room I stayed in smelt bad... Staff was great tho, but the breakfast lady could maybe be more friendly :P And yes there was at least one mouse in the house!

initially me n my sis had booked 4 nights at new cross, but it being quite a good base for everything we decided to prolong our stay for another couple of nights. during that time we had the chance to stay in 3 different rooms, which was pretty cool too :) music downstairs was maybe bit too loud at times (using earplugs is a good idea), but it didn\\\'t really disturb us... so yeah it was a warm nice place with genuinely nice ppl :)

For such a big hostel there's a shortage of security lockers, especially those in the communal area. As we checked out from the hostel we needed to leave our valuables behind for a few hours, but as the medium size lockers were wholly hired, we then had to leave all our stuff in the luggage room. Luckily everything was still there once we collected our items, but that's something you might consider improving.
