The Dictionary in Shoreditch is an adequate hostel when staying in London. The showers are pretty tight, and the kitchen is a bit small for such a large hostel. There is no free Wi-Fi in the rooms. The location is good- very near the Shoreditch Overground and the Old Street tube stop. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the cafe and bar attached are great places to hang out.
Macgabhainns Hostel in Kilkenny was SUPERB. GREAT location, just off the main street through town. Clean rooms, great showers, and plenty of space to store your belongings.
I wasn't that impressed with Bru. I was in a 6 bed dorm with 'shared bathrooms', but the 'shared bathroom' was a single, basically shared between the 3 rooms on the floor. The room itself was cramped for 6 people, with no lockers to store your belongings. Add to that that it was a SAUNA in the room, and we were all uncomfortable overnight. The staff was helpful, and the bar downstairs is a great place to start off the night, but in the end, I'd look elsewhere when in Cork...
Neptunes is great- good location, helpful staff, and a great price. To improve, they could have lockers in the rooms for storing personal items.
Snoozles is one of the best hostels in Ireland- great facilities, very clean ,and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The only issue I had was that the initial room I was put in didn't have lockers, so I had to go and change at reception. That wasn't a problem though, and the 2nd room was great. It was a bit bright at night though- the window was right behind a MASSIVE neon sign that stayed lit until 3 or 4am... All good though- you sleep with your eyes closed anyway!
The Way was great- located close to the metro, heaps of shops and restaurants, and in between the city center and the park. Good facilities, great atmosphere, and helpful staff...
The Purple Nest was a great stay- good location close to restaurants and shops, helpful and friendly staff, heaps of ways to meet others and explore the city, and good beds with plenty of space for your gear.
I've traveled all over the world and have stayed in HUNDREDS of hostels, and the Rodamón is one of the very best. Great location off the Diagonal metro stop; helpful and friendly staff; privacy curtains on the beds, along with personal outlets and lights; huge lockers; a massive outdoor terrace; an exceptional INCLUDED breakfast; FREE laundry; and a FREE COFFEE MACHINE!!! Super clean, super friendly, and super location. What more can you ask for?
The Transylvania Hostel was great- helpful staff, huge kitchen, great location, and comfy beds...
The Swanky Crib was awesome... Lovra and John run a great hostel, Nikole and Valerija are very helpful, and the hostel itself is clean, tidy, and a great place to hang out.
The Tchaikovsky Hostel in Split is great- easy location for getting to the palace, the ferry/train/bus terminals, the beaches, etc. Phillip and Maya are AWESOME- very helpful and happy to provide insight for what to do in and around town. Definitely recommended.
