Great place. The location is very convenient for walking to the museum, lots of restaurants, the metro, etc. Although I didn't particularly have time, they will be happy to help you plan out some excursions in the city or even elsewhere in Egypt.

For $90USD a night in a dorm bunk bed, would not have used Amsterdam as my night stop on the way home on this trip if I had known what the prices were like. That is more than double the rate I have come to expect in the past from this city. With that said, there was apparently a convention going on which was driving up the rates everywhere. Still though, $90 for a bunk is beyond excessive and I only paid it because there was really nothing else left in town.

The one thing that bothered me was putting in $4 to run the aircon through the night (because otherwise it was going to be 30C in the full dorm) and then some guy next to the aircon wants to turn it off and open the windows to 'help him sleep.' The room is advertised as an aircon room; the hostel should control the situation in the form of: aircon off during the day to save power, but turn it on in the evening and nobody should be paying anything. $27+$4 = $31 I could almost get a hotel room.
Hello, thanks for staying 2 nights with us and very very sorry about the air conditioner in your dorm room. Just a note that we do put in 12hrs free aircon at night in all dorms . If you do want air-conditioning during the day thats when you will need to put your own coins in. So $27 gets u free breakfast everyday including pancakes twice a week, free wifi, free bbq twice a week and a safe, friendly place to launch your Cairns adventure. PS a motel with free breakfast will cost u over $100 a night. Next time let our night managers know of your problem and we will solve it for u. Night managers and on 24 hrs per day.

Usually at a hostel there is something that makes you put 'good' in one part of the review instead of 'excellent' even if the place was great. Not the case here. I don't think they could do any better with what they've got! Impressive that they have only been running it for a few months as it is a very well-run operation. One thing: breakfast is not a buffet but rather, each plate is cooked and prepared -- so if you have a 7AM bus somewhere, come down a bit earlier than 15 min prior!

The only thing I wish they did differently would be to turn the music in the courtyard down around 23:00-24:00. It could be left on but be a bit quieter, as there were only a few people out there late. Anyway, I put some earplugs in and went to sleep. Otherwise a good place right by the beach.

If you want a cheap bed to sleep in near the beach, this is fine for that. The dorm is definitely on the crowded end of the spectrum as far as hostels go, with less than a width for a person to walk between beds and a narrow gap in the middle filled with bags, and the A/C was just barely able to keep the room decently cooled down at night with a full twelve people in it. But, for the price I felt like it was about what I expected from a no-frills place to stay on the island.

1) Booked room of three beds & there was one big bed & they said they would bring another small bed up later. No room for another bed though. 2) No water in the room after 10PM for remainder of stay. No hot, no cold. Were told it comes on at 06:00 which never happened. 3) My friends arrived & their passport was taken at the desk and the employee began to walk down the street with them. When my friend followed him and asked if he could have them back, employee initially held them away from him!

Great location and great hostel overall. I'll stay there next time I'm in Rio de Janeiro, whenever that may be.

I will definitely keep this hotel in mind next time I transit Frankfurt. I think it was a great deal for the price. No complaints.

Nice place. We organized a trek on the Annapurna Circuit with Raj and got a great guide and the trek was great. We were able to store whatever we did not need to bring on the trek in the storage room at Khangsar and I also left my laptop which stayed in a locked cabinet in the office. Good location and I would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

Great place. Party in the lobby every night of the week or fifth floor a good lounge area if you're recovering from the previous night. Good tours available, slightly pricey however you don't need to worry about a plan of your own. I did the Halong Bay 3-day and Sapa 2-day trips and both were good. The Halong Bay 3-day is a 3-day bender if you want it to be. Sapa is a very nice region and we ended up hiking 30km. The hostel itself is very good.
