It feels as though you are 'tons' of people living in the same hostel due to the number of rooms available but to be fair, it is not. perhaps there are quite a number of the people staying in this hostel are 'residents'. the location is very convenient as it is just a 5 minutes walk to the Hammersmith tube station. i like the idea of having a fridge in the room but everything else seems redundant. an average hostel but value for money.
The hostel's location is very near to almost all major attractions. Ostello Bello also has a lot of character through the design of the hostel with the look and feel of it to be comfortable yet playful but it seems that there are also a lot of 'outside' people having their meal and drinks at the bar/restaurant. The charges for the meal should not be same for a guest of Ostello Bello and the 'outside' people though.
I have to admit that this is one of the friendliest place I have stayed in and there is certainly some chill-out character to this place. The rooms are big and comfortable but just a small complain on the towels as it had some odour to it (possibly because it was raining most of the time). The location of Babel is just about 15-20minutes walk to the old market/pub street area but I am not complaining as this place wasn't as badly flooded as compared to downtown.
the staffs are very accommodating and friendly. managed to get a guided tour up mt kinabalu through masada even though it was said to be fully booked 3 months earlier. the location is not dead centre but just around the corner there are pubs and bars while the waterfront is just 10-15mins walk away. great place to stay if you prefer a quiet night with some amazingly comfortable bed.
my 3rd time staying here and was disappointed as the standard has dropped!
a hostel with great character but they should start clearing up the fridge as its' stuffed with 'food' which are months old. shower is small and is also stuffed with empty bottles of all sorts of things!
as the room i am staying is facing the restaurants & bars, its noisy during the night. paying for internet is really a disappointment and what more it is quite expensive. one plus point is that they provide towels!
its not a hostel but a guesthouse. i believe there was some miscommunication when i checked in as i only got my bed in the evening. it was messy with stuff everywhere but it gets better once you get into the room. it gets to hot when sleeping as there is no fan in the room.
the location is not as close to the main train station as the other wombat and its in a quiet neighbourhood. i like the fact that their bedsheets are packed in a plactic bag thus proving that they are ´fresh´! paying for internet as this kind of age is not acceptable. but still ...
the location is somewhat still acceptable as salzburg is a small place. the lockers a huge, toilets are acceptably clean but am disappointed as we have to pay for internet.
it feels and smells like a hotel. the location is just opposite the main train station and about 10-15mins walk to the main square. the lockers are huge enough to pack in a 50ltr bagpack but am disappointed as we have to pay for internet. as my room was facing the street, even after 1am you can hear ppl down the street talking clearly!
its partly a hotel and some rooms are used as dorms and there is only one key to a room. there is not much security then as you have to leave the door to the room unlock for your dorm mates when taking a shower. its near the train, bus and vaporetto services and it takes about 15-20mins of walk to reach the rialto or piazza san marco.
with breakfast and dinner provided, it is really a blessing for budget travellers. there are sufficient internet points and even have a computer in the room (which can be a nuisance sometimes). to those rooms facing the 'garden', it might be quite noisy at times as groups tend to gather their for their boozing session! the location is very near the train station and just 10-15mins walk to tourist attractions. the bathrooms are clean but there isnt enough of it.
when one talks, the whole hostel can hear! this can be quite annoying if you are a light sleeper. its walkable to most of the tourist attractions from here. the shower is small and you would have to hang your clothes and towel 'outside'. beware, for girls love to use the guys bathroom (for the mirror is huge)!
its location is very central in Neustadt for its near to all those clubs and pubs and it is also walkable to the Altstadt (about 15mins). you would have to hang your clothes and tower in the toilet while taking a shower as it can only fit you in it. try bringing your own toilet paper for the ones used here are 'hard'!
it certainly feels and smells like a wannabe hotel. the bar downstairs which opens 24hrs and sufficient internet point is a plus! it is walkable to alexanderplatz from here but if you were to visit berlin, having a day travel card is worth it as its such a huge city!
reading so many bad reviews, i have to admit i was biased on judging anker hostel before i even stayed there. it wasnt as bad as it seems. i have stayed in hostels which are worst than this. to get to the place is a bit dodgy (unless you take the tram or bus which actually stops just infront but still safe enough for me).the cleanliness is acceptable but there is much to be improved on as the mattresses and duvets are old. the bathroom ceiling has water patches.
this hostel has everything a backpacker wants. a very detailed hostel whereby every inch of the hostel was as though given a deep thought for our benefit! highly recommended!
location might not be centre and it takes about 20mins to reach central ams where all the actions are. i do not get why people are \'afraid\' that this is a christian hostel as the staffs are not there to \'convert\' you to christianity! a lovely neighbourhood and certainly a good place to sleep after all those \'action\'!
Easy enough to find and close to centre dublin. as i was staying in dorm C (which is directly below the reception), you can hear footsteps and such. the ensuite bathroom is clean enough but a hassle when you got to wait for your turn (the cleanliness lies in the hands of your roommates!) the breakfast is plentiful and choices are good. the staffs
russell sq was up to my expectations as for the price i paid, its good for a nights stay but nothing more than that. as you have to pay for the lockers, you will find bags lying everywhere on the floor. the toilets are still acceptable but there isnt any handwash liquid!
first time staying in a st christopher\'s hostel and like the fact that its smack right in the centre of bath. the beds are mediocre as it wasnt very clean but the bathroom is still presentable. and there is no locker and no plug points in the room (there is but some funny round plug points)
a clean hostel and bunk beds doesnt have that squeaky noise. disappointed to find that there is no locker in room and no clothes hanger in bathroom.
the location is great as its near the city centre/train station/bus station but poor as its surrounded by bars/clubs. try to get a room away from the road to get a more peaceful sleep! sometimes the main door is not shut properly and thus anyone could just enter the building but since each room has its own card entry access, it balances out on the security.
it was since half a year, i last stayed in palmers lodge. there wasnt much changes but there were certainly more things which could be bought at the reception eg. toothpaste, towel, padlock ... i did hoped that the sink would \'grow bigger\' but it didnt. eventhough the location its out of town, but the night bus number 13 caters to this area which makes it convenient. another good thing about the bed here is that the double decks are made of wood thus minimising the movement and noise while sleeping!
the location is excellent as its just blocks away from roma termini. bring your own padlock (eventhough i have no idea on how to use the padlock to lock the locker) and i am impressed that the bathroom comes equipped with a dryer! i didnt understand why the common room had to be close by midnight? i would definitely stay here again.
anyone who is looking for fun shouldnt stay here! sleephere caters to people who wants to experience staying in a \'brussels\' community, somewhere out of the city. the only means of getting back to sleephere after 12midnight is taxi. it cost about 15euros one way for taxi. karel is spot on when you need to get any information on brussels. accommodating and very helpful indeed!
its difficult to find the hostel as the directions wasnt clear. once you find the hostel, its actually very near to all the main attractions. the breakfast is very acceptable and the overall cleanliness of the hostel is good. there is no lockers in the rooms and the security is just average or maybe is it because brugge is a peaceful town?
my first foray staying in a hostel and booked palmers lodge because of the good reviews. i wasnt disappointed but there are a few improvements that can be done. bring your own padlock and slippers for the showers will flood! one can ignore the sinks as its not fit for humans!
