Stay on Main

Los Angeles, USA

Stay on Main has the feeling more of a hotel than a hostel. It feels upscale, but not really a place to meet other travelers and to swap travel stories. Stay on Main is located in downtown with bars and restaurants nearby, but the hotel/hostel is still something like a 25 minute walk to Union Station (where the trains and metros are). A taxi to Union Station costs approximately $8-12 and you can call one from the hotel.

Hostel Cat

Las Vegas, USA

Pros: 1) Free pancake breakfast 2) Nice dinners some nights at a reasonable cost 3) Beer in the outside vending machine 4) Internet available for $5/hour (although the mouse at one of the terminals doesn't work well) 5) Social environment Cons: 1) I felt the location of the hostel wasn't safe. It's better to be on the strip I'd say. There were a lot of vacant lots and closed businesses and sketchy people near the hostel 2) The TV was blaring too much, making it hard to concentrate and socialize

Metro Apartments

Pattaya, Thailand

This place is awesome! The location is in the middle of the action, on a great soi (Soi LK Metro). If you're ever lost, you can just tell a motorcycle taxi driver to go to LK Metro and they'll know where to go. The apartments are above an air-conditioned bar with free pool tables, which in my mind is great because they're people to socialize with downstairs, the whole place feel safer, and you can beat the heat. I had a great time hanging out with Tookie...I'll miss this place and Pattaya...

Thanks for your very nice comments Omer. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope we see you again soon. Dennis

I had a great time at this medium sized hostel. The hostel is located close to two metro lines, but seemed like it was in a residential area (without a concentration of bars and restaurants). I particularly liked how there were two terminals to check the internet (100 yen for 30 mins.) and staff would print out pages (at 10 yen a sheet) if you wanted them to. The staff is particularly helpful and will even research a question that you have. All the staff I interacted with spoke good English.

Thank you very much for your message,Omer! We are looking forward you coming back to our hostel!

I had a great time at this capsule hotel. If you like being around bars, clubs, and restuarants this capsule hotel is very well situated next to kabukicho. Since it's not a youth hostel, though, there isn't information about things to do and the staff doesn't answer questions that a typical traveller would ask.

Overall I liked the place, but it could be closer to the French Quarter and it was seriously lame that there was only 1 bright light for an entire dorm room, meaning that you had to disturb everyone when turning it on. On the plus side, it was open 24hrs., had cool murals on the walls, and a great backyard area -- made me feel I was in summer camp.
