This hostel is very good if you're travelling solo, because the single rooms are not very expensive for the city, rooms are comfortable and ensuite, the ambience is calm and the breakfast nice. It's located next to public transport and is easy reachable. And the stuff was just really really nice and helpful for me. I would recomend it.

Two days before our arrival, they call us to say they might not be able to host us for some inspection issues. They call twice (international roaming charging for us) without confirming if we can stay, and we ask them to send a text msg with confirmation because we'll have to find a place in Dublin for a Saturday night with only two days! No response. After we call three times in the evening, we finally get through and they tell us we can't stay. We end up paying 30e more for a last-minute place
We stayed one night and had to leave very early in the morning, so it was a pity that it was a bit noisy at night but hey, it's Temple Bar, what could we expect? They organised a transport to the airport that was very convenient, the kitchen was great and the room very cosy and nice. If you're looking for quiet nights Barnacles might not be the place, but otherwise, we would recommend it!
We spent one night at the hostel and we found it very cosy and nice. It is just a short walk from town in a peaceful area. It is a pleasant place to stay calm, and the kitchen is big and useful.
