Perfect place if you're just staying the night in Colombo at the beginning or end of your trip. Staff were super helpful & friendly, rooms were spacious (with big individual lockers) and plenty of showers & toilets. Highly recommend.

A lovely place just by the lake. The hosts were super friendly and helpful and definitely made our stay that bit better. He was able to organize a driver for us (who was awesome! Ask for Jilla) and give us advice on where to go & what to do. Definitely recommend!

Location: Across the road from the beach; but directions are not helpful at all. Facilities: Enough showers & toilets but the locks didn't work on most of them. Security & rooms: Rooms are pretty tight, but you get a charging station with UBS ports both in the big lockers and by your bed. Staff: Mostly pretty unhelpful. Nice enough, but trying to get information out of them was a waste of time.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review. We are sorry the directions were not helpful. Please note since then, we have gone back to the source and have improved our mapping. It should work accurately now. Yes, some locks in the toilets were broken but they were all fixed. Our staff is generally known to be friendly and helpful but our apologies if you experienced otherwise. Happy Journeys.

Good location by the main shopping centre and short walk to most bus links. The staff were pretty unhelpful though even on simple things like finding a place to print something. Its fine for a night, but any longer and somewhere else maybe more useful.

Great hostel with super helpful and friendly staff. Awesome bar/common area for night time & meeting people. Dorms are big and spacious with lockers. Ver good location right by the water, so always easy find and naviagte to & from. Down side would be the extra charge for linen and the communal showers (seperate for male & female but still). Still and excellent option.

location is great with Plaza de Armas and the main downtown sites all in close walking distance. plenty of restaurants, bars, & couple of supermarkets close too. hostel was comfortable and homely. stayed in a dorm room which was spacious and with comfortable beds. staff were friendly and very helpful - the free pisco sour before taking us out on Friday was great! Nice enough staff but only the two bathrooms for the whole hostel. Also no common area to chill out in, just the corridor with some chairs in it. The hostel is also a fair hike into town, so you would be spending you time & money catching the metro around town. Almost better to pay a little more and stay closer to the centre :)

Only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre and super easy to find. The dorms aresuper spacious and even have security lockers if you need them. Most importatnly I don't think you could find more helpful and entertaining owners than these. They did everything to make our stay perfect, to the point where we were booked in for 1 and stayed for 4 nights. The only slight negative would be the bathrooms were a little small. Highly recommend and would definately stay again.

This place is amazing. Although it is a little out of the town (10-15 min walk) it is well worth it. The newly built bamboo and and wood buildings really create an awesome atmosphere for just chilling out and relaxing. The hammocks overlooking the rice field are a brilliant bonus aswell. The facilities (showers, toilets etc) are all brand new, and the staff a very warm and friendly. You will find it very hard to leave.

Nice big beds and good facilities in the dorms. Good outside common area to just chill out in too. The staff are not overly helpful or friendly, but there are plenty of places around town to find the information you need. There are no lockers in the dorms and the room stays unlooked all day. With different members of staff comming in and out frequently. If your not a big worry on security then this place is more than fine.

Good clean hostel with excellent facilities. The location is excellent and they help you took book tours bus tickets etc. The breakfast is also very good. Only thing to note would be that the dorm is on the 5th floor which can be a bit of a hike with a pack.

Basically they lost our booking and put us in an apartment that a member of staff lives in. It was a 15 minute walk away from the hostel and was right on the main road with no parking. There was no apology and I have never been spoken to so rudely by someone working in a hostel before. This is the 2nd time I have been there and also the 2nd time I was spoken to in a very hostile manner. Basically they know they have monopoly on budget accomodation in th area, so know they can get away with it

Just try to avoid the room by the bar, it can be rather noisy all night :)

This is one of those hostels that is more like a hotel. Not really a common area to meet people, if thats what you're after. We had booked a dorm and were given a double room though which was a bonus. Only downside is the walls are rather thin so you can hear everything in the corridors. Good night sleep was rather hard to get. Other than that it was fine. Staff were helpful and the location was in the old town. Just don't get a taxi from the train station, the charge about €50 for a 5-10 minute jo

We only stayed one night, but it was easy to find and the staff was fantastic and super helpful. The hostel itself is well equipt and has a pretty darn good breakfast too. Only tip would be, when you come from the station, the directions say to turn left on the opposite side of the road. Dont go completley opposite, just turn left and follow the main road. :)

View Property Reply

Very nice to see that youve enjoyed your stay in our hostel. We will think out something to make the directions more clear, but when youre coming from the main train station you just have to cross the main road... If you dont cross it next to the direction-board on the official crosswalk, you will have to cross it somewhere else, which could be dangerous.

In terms of location this is ok. Im not really sure what you want to be close to though. A decent hike to the train station though. THe hostel itself only has one show and the toilets are rather dodgy and very low down. The staff seem to have other things on their mind and were not overly helpful at all. Basicall,y if there is a big group of you and you just want a place to rest your head, then this is fine, otherwise I would suggest finding somewhere else. :)

View Property Reply

If you want to be as close to the center we are it that is where all the stuff to do and see in our street you will find bars, clubs cafes, shops and so on . Next time as you like to be close to train stations maybe stay at the train station as they have beds there for kiwi backpackers and other fans of train st. Also let us say in our defense 1. We are a hostel not a hotel so one must use and share facilities (sorry about that) 2. We have 2 showers not 1 as you are clamming in your objective feedback 3. Dont know what height and so on you have on toilets in New Zealand. But We have standard normal European Toilets in our hostel the same type you will find in any London hotel so I am assuming that in New Zealand you must have some sort of elevation on your toilets But in Europe we dont sorry about that. 4. Regarding your clam about us having other things on our minds; We are sorry we did not give you our total and undivided attention to you for your 7.5 Euros pr night. But we are right now in high session and we have a lot of guests to take care of hope you understand.

Nice quiet hostel on the edge of town. Slighty dodgey area though especially at night but a short walk into the old town. Rooms were nice a spacious but there was only one shower for girls that had a door on it..

Excellent atmosphere and good staff. Bar is always busy but rooms nice, clean and quiet. Location very central and you are able to walk everywhere :)

This was the perfect hostel to just chill out and relax in. Also good for meeting other travellers. A bit tricky to find at first as it is set back from the road, but the general location is fine. Bit of a trek into town though.
