We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were friendly. The location is good. Only complaint would be that the walls are very thin.

Brilliant hostel! Staff are amazing. Great atmosphere. Very clean and really close to the old town square. Breakfast was great. I will definitely stay again
This is a really good hostel. Located very centrally. Staff exceptionally friendly. Different activities arranged for the backpackers every night of the week e.g. ice-skating, trivia night etc. Free breakfast although not a lot of choice - i would have appreciated some cereal! Negatives were that it was really loud outside the room at night but it's located on the party street. The rooms were tiny. Funny smell in the hallway. Wifi is temperamental and only works properly in common area.
This place is a very cool concept. It's a eco-friendly place to stay and all the rooms are converted railway carriages. It's located a 5 minute drive from Raglan town centre but up on a hill and the views of the sea and the beach are amazing. The only complaint i have is that there wasn't enough hot water in the shower to have a shower for the whole day.
Berkenoff has one of the best hostel kitchens i've ever seen. It's fully equipped, lots of space, two sinks and it's very clean. We stayed there during the off-peak season and there was only about 4 other people in the hostel but by the photos on the walls and the backpacker bar at the back i reckon it would be a great, sociable place to stay during peak time. The rooms were a little old fashioned but clean. No wifi available at all when we stayed
Right beside Rotorua Museum. Good enough hostel
Rooms were a bit miserable and old-fashioned. The carpets were all stained. The sky light in our room had no curtains so we were woken quite early because of the light. The common room and kitchen are big, spacious and well-stocked. Free parking. Free wifi upon arrival.
It certainly was not for us! A lot of the people there seemed to love it! I found it dirty&dusty (brought on BOTH of our allergies pretty strongly). The kitchen is TINY and making food is such an ordeal due to this. When we arrived we were told they had given our room to people who had arrived without a booking, which seems to happen all the time. We were given a van to sleep in (cool idea-they put a big mattress in the back of it.) Owner rarely there. Supposed to stay 4 nights - left after 1.
This does exactly what it says on the tin - an average hostel as a stopover near the airport. Bit miserable feeling. Staff nice enough.
This hostel is immaculate. Everything you could ask for it had in abundance. It was plain and simple, a great stay!
We enjoyed our stay at The Nunnery. It's a beautiful old building with a colourful history and the nun theme is prominent throughout. The bathroom were perfectly fine and so were the rooms. It's in a great area of Melbourne, accessible by the trams, beside the Exhibition Building and well within walking distance of the city. The staff were good and helpful. The wifi was expensive though!
Good location. Free wifi. Room was good with a tv and air con. It was cheaper than a lot of the other places we'd looked at.
This place has a good atmosphere and is located in a nice area. It has a good common room with a tv and lots of DVDs but i would not stay here again. The owner charges you $5 to stay in the hostel in the last day and wait for your bus. He justifies this by saying you have to 'pay to use the facilities'. We have never had to pay to stay in the hostel on the last day. He handled it badly and we found him arrogant. The rest of the staff are very nice though. The hostel is overall dirty and grubby.
When we arrived into the transit centre they had a courtesy van collect us. This van runs every hour, on the hour to the centre of Surfers as the hostel is a 15 minute walk. We got upgraded from a dorm to a twin-room apartment when we arrived. The staff are nice. Good atmosphere there with everyone hanging around the social area. It has a basketball net and volleyball court and they arrange volleyball games at 6pm every other night. Free wifi in the social area, not in the bedrooms.
The hostel is geared towards travellers having a fun time. The beds are VERY loud! Everytime anyone moved in them i woke up. They have air con all all day, which is good but when i asked them to turn it down a degree or two because my bf was coming down with something they said if they turned it down it would 'break'! ???. The reception gets quite busy and can take a while to be served. Staff are ok but don't go out of their way to help you. Great kitchen, great character. Wifi is $4 for 24 hour
Big garden, outdoors area to chill out with hammocks. Free wifi if you book trips with them. Really cool kitchen in a room themed as a 'Woolshed'. Very unique! Clean bathrooms. Air con cost $5 for the day. The only problem we had was the reception opens and closes at unusual hours and sometimes the receptionist will just be gone when you need something. She can be late opening the reception too. Be aware of the closing times if you are arriving from a bus journey. Great hostel overall!
The hostel is located a 15 minute walk from the city centre. They run vans to bring travellers to the bus station. The staff are ok. The hostel is a bit rough around the edges! But the bedrooms are clean and air con goes all and stays on all night. The kitchen is well-equipped. The atmosphere is ok. The tv room has a DVD player and we were looking forward to watching a DVD until we realised someone had shoved a DVD into the mechanism so it was broken :(
It was like staying in cabins in the forest. There is a bar right next to the hostel and a restaurant with mediocre food. The double/twin room cabins have very thin walls. On the last night there were a couple in the adjoining room with blaring music and dancing until late. The kitchen is somewhat under stocked with only one sharp chopping knife that people have to alternate using. The women at reception are helpful but always really busy and sometimes it took ages to be served.
The hostel organised to collect us from the Greyhound terminal upon arrival, even though we missed them! The couple who run the hostel are helpful and friendly, especially the lady. They will give advice to do with everything in Townsville. The kitchen is immaculate, it's so clean and tidy and fully stocked! The whole hostel is exceptionally clean, to the point of lacking a little personality, we thought. But it makes up for that in other ways! The air-con and WIFI is free, definite bonus!
We had an amazing time at this hostel over Christmas. They have a lovely pool, a lot of hammocks to relax on, free BBQ for anyone who wants to use it, is within walking distance of the shopping centre and Cole's Supermarket, had a book exchange, a booking office. The staff are extremely friendly, positive, helpful people. The manager, Helen, especially, goes out of her way to learn people's names even! They do BBQ nights and pizza nights for a reasonable price. They do charge for WIFI and aircon
We had stayed in Five Stone 2 months ago and when we were back in Singapore we had no doubt as to where we'd be staying. Free breakfast, good book exchange programme, great location, just a 5 minute walk outside of Chinatown. The common room is good, there is a tv and a wide variety of dvds to choose from to watch. The staff are AMAZING! They are so helpful and friendly and they remembered us from last time. They always have a smile for you :D The rooms are fine. The beds were very comfortable!
This hostel was great! Lots of character, good book exchange, good location, very close to the centre. As soon as you arrive the staff are very helpful and give you a map letting you know where everything is. Very nice place to stay. Highly recomended.
This hostel was really fancy for a hostel. It had loads of character and is located a fifteen minute walk from the bus station Pudaraya. The rooms were fine. Small, but the beds were done into the wall with curtains at the end of each one to give privacy. You get a free drink voucher upon arrival but the drink is very weak :p Good place to stay. Very comfortable.
This hostel has lots of character with hand written signs around the place and a collection box urging 'roommates' to donate money to have the two resident dogs, Shanti and Spotty, spayed. Stop the cycle of unwanted street dogs! A worthy cause we reckoned as we had the pleasure of meeting Shanti the dog and she was totally delightful :) Good beds. There are curtains around each one allowing privacy. Air con could be a little colder we thought! Good location. Nice staff. Reasonably priced.
This place had a nice view from the balcony. It was about a 15 minute walk from the dock and it is bit of a steep climb. There was a nice pool and free wifi, but only in the reception, not in the rooms. One of the owners was very pleasant. The room was a haven for wildlife - there were monkeys jumping on the rooves every morning, there were ants, mosquitos, lizards and a snake once in the room. This didn't bother us too much though!
Good fresh feeling hostel. The rooms were very small but the beds were very comfortable and clean. The air con was excellent too. There is one staff member who is exceedingly nice and helpful but the rest do not speak very good English at all. The cafe part of the hostel does not seem well stocked as one day they didn't have either tuna or tomato for the tuna and tomato sandwich i wanted (what cafe doesn't have tomatoes?). Nice place to come back to after a good day of sightseeing!
We went for the full moon party and had a great time, however, this was not due to the hostel being good! The room we opted for online was an 8-bed dorm. When we arrived we were put in a 16-bed dorm. The beds were as hard as planks, extremely uncomfortable. The staff were not good! It was overpriced. The bathroom was filthy and the staff did not clean the room or bathroom in the entire time we were there. The free boxing matches we got into were a plus, they had a good atmosphere.
The dorms in this hostel were great. You get your own booth that closes over. It gives a feeling of privacy and you aren't woken up too early if people are getting up around you. It gets pretty stuffy in the booths through the night though. The common area has a lot of character. It very clean and the staff are nice. It's also a 5 minute walk from Kao San road. Really good hostel.
We loved this hostel. The house it's in is beautiful. The staff were amazing. The owner, Phil, was lovely and gave us a map when we first arrived and made sure we knew everything to do. The Cambodian guys working there are also delightful! It's in a good location, about a 5 minute walk away from the town centre but in a quiet location so we had no trouble sleeping. There were tvs in the rooms, free internet in the lobby, free wifi, bus booking, reasonably priced.
The rooms in this hotel are excellent, very clean, good beds and the rooms are huge! Free breakfast which is great, even though the breakfast was mediocre. The location is good, just opposite the main bus station and a 5 minute walk from everything else. Staff are ok. We were very annoyed the last morning though because there was a wedding going on outside the hotel and the music was blaring from 6am non stop so we were unable to sleep. We would have appreciated some notice regarding this.
At first we thought the location was far out from the town centre, but it is in between The Independence Monument and the S-21 prison, both are within walking distance. The area it is located in is close to a K-mart, good restaurants and clubs and bars. The atmosphere in the hostel is good and very laid back. The common area/pub is a great place to meet people and find a group to go out on a night out with. The rooms are fine. The basic room costs less but there is no air conditioning.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They are a family that go out of their way to help you and make sure you're comfortable. The location is good, we only had to walk 3 minutes from the place where the night buses drop us off. They give you out a map of the city with all of the important landmarks on it and restaurants they think you might like. Free wifi and free internet access. They also let you use their kitchen which is very handy for backpackers on a budget. Great air con too
Good hostel. Staff not great. very communal hostel, you meet loads of people.
The Jade hotel's staff were amazing! They were so welcoming and friendly and we appreciated all of their help so much. The location was great, it was right next to the main area of the town, close to loads of bars and restaurants. The room was satisfactory. It had everything we needed. The only complaint we would have about the hotel is the bathroom was bizarre! The shower was not a designated area, if you didn't use the curtain the whole room would have been soaked!
We enjoyed our one night stay there. The room was good and the staff were very friendly. The location was good, it was a few minutes outside of the old quarter but closer to the Ho Chi Minh Mosoleum etc. Good stay!
We loved this hostel! It was right on the river Kwai with a beautiful view. The room had everything we needed. It was right in the centre of the tourist area of Kanchanaburi but was off on a little side street so was never too loud.
Best hostel to stay in in Bangkok. Great place for meeting fellow travellers and exchanging experiences. Loved it!
This hostel was amazing! The staff were always eager to help and extremely friendly. The only thing i could point out as a negative was that the traffic outside our window at night was quite loud. Other than that i think it was flawless.
The room was very small but adequate. The walls were paper thin. Located in a great place right in the centre of Galway. Staff were great and very helpful. Overall pretty good.

There was a lot of noise the night we stayed caused by a group of spanish people but the next morning as far as we could see they were evicted from the hostel. The hostel is BRILL... really central, LOADS of character, reasonably priced. Cannot fault it
The hostel was extremely central, which was amazing! Our room was great, had a hairdryer, a fan and loads of unique photo collages around the wall. Also ya get a discount in the attached bar downstairs when you stay in the hostel which is brilliant. I would DEFINITELY stay here again
The floors and doors were very squeeky! There are loads of pictures all over the walls which suggests a unique hostel... but i think it was a plot to divert people's attentions away from the old building. The area is good and the staff are nice. It was a GOOD hostel... not great, just good.
This is one of the best hostels i've atsyed in in Europe, and I've frequented a fair few! It's very unique. Also just a 4 minute walk from the main Freidhstrasse S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations. There are some lovely restaurants around aswell. The staff are helpful, the beds are comfortable and it is always clean.
great hostel! Definitely one of the best i've stayed in... and 9've stayed in a lot. really lovely huge building. although we had a bad experience with 2 inconsiderate girls talking in our room till all hours. but the beds have deadly curtains that block out the light for everyone. so it's great :)
this is a very good hostel. i really liked it. free tea and coffee
this place was lovely. very cute and had everything we needed. it is not a hostel though
AMAZING HOSTEL! loved it
I LOVED THIS PLACE!!! it fit in with the whole overall relaxing atmosphere of bled. It was so homey and the receptions go out of their way to help you.
The cells are awesome... VERY good place to stay.
No backpackers there.
there are LOTS of stairs!!! but it is so easy to find and right beside the train station
it was difficult to find coz it w3as in a little alcove with no sign. But it was lovely and the view from some of the rooms was gorgeous
it is real nice. i recommend it. kitchen a tad bit small... but at least it has one.
VERY FAR OUT... I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT
we took a while to find it but literally it is RIGHT beside McDonalds. nearly the same building :-/
We really liked our stay here. The ship has loads of character! It doesn't rock hardly at all either for those of you who get sea sick. It is quiet and cute. They also give u sheets which is a step up from the other hostels we stayed in. On the downside they have no door to the male shower room, the rooms that face the front of the ship can be very noisy. One of the mornings a guy was cutting weeds and stuff outside our window.VERY LOUD.walls are thin!
It is a pain to find as the directions to the hostel on the website say there is a bus right outside of the cebntral station... there is not!
Easy to find as the metro runs right by it.
This hostel is located in 'the ghetto', as we called it. On the street corner yells of 'Dijon' and 'Marlboro' would kinda put you off. The room we were in was BOILING hot every night with no way of cooling it down. The 'entertainment room' was a few tables and chairs thrown into a room. The kitchen's facilities are non-existant. To top it all off, one of the staff killed 2 rats out the back garden in front of us on the last night. We did not enjoy our stay... but it was cheap
