The Packers lodge is without a doubt one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, brand new, super equiped, friendly staff,... the beds with curtains in the dorm rooms are super and give you plenty privacy. Just watch out, google maps gives the wrong street if you type in the street name.
It is a great hostel and the staff is friendly. The rooms are nice and there is a locker inclusive padlock provided. Just the toilets often smell not that nice due to the lack of ventilation.
There are several reasons why I'm glad I only made a reservation for 2 nights in this "hostel" (It's actually a crappy hotel where they converted some 2 person bedrooms in 6 person "Deluxe" dorms). There are several very strange guests in this hostel who are staying here for several weeks/months, there is zero atmosphere in this hostel and the staff is not helpfull. There is no toilet in the kitchen so your only toilet is in your room (across the street).
The Philadelphia House was for sure one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, right in the historical center, brand new, the staff is very friendly and helpfull which makes you feel at home right away and the athmosephere among the guests is brilliant. I highly recommend this place.
