The best homestay we've stayed in during our time in India. The owners are lovely and helped us sort out our bus. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless. Really good fans. Hot showers. Comfy beds. Nice quiet area. Go for breakfast too - 100 rupees and delicious. Really highly recommended.
The good: warm duvets, hot showers, nice bar, friendly staff, really sociable, excellent location. The not so good: bathrooms not very private. Rooftop toilets are a bit like sheds. They run some free tours but they're not always the best orgaised.
Great value. Hot showers. Spacious room. Really nice pople. Excellent location. We'd definitely stay again.
Excellent location. Right by the Skytrain. Lots of food options on the doorstep. Night market. Bee is the manager and very helpful and friendly. Other staff not so smiley but this may be due to a lack of shared language. Everywhere very clean and secure. It would be good to have fresh milk available for breakfast as well as fresh fruit and juice. We were a group of 3 and it suited us well. Not sure if you'd be able to meet other people there easily if you were on you're own.
A really professionally run hostel. Lots of space. Great bar. Decent food. Nice pool. Excellent location. Good tour desk. No faults at all really. The only thing is that it's not such an intimate atmosphere as it's a large place. A great choice overall. Highly recommended.
Good value hostel. Location in town by pier so a bit of a walk to Sairee. A young, pretty straight laced crowd when we were there. We were the only couple. Owner Khai is very friendly and his sister Sophie is lovely. They're keen to get everyone together and enjoying themselves. Clean dorms. Comfy beds.
An excellent guesthouse. We stayed in 3 hostels in Chiang Mai and this was our favourite by far. Lovely staff. Great rooms - really clean, lots of space, comfy beds, good ac etc. Tasty breakfasts with good coffee. Some nice places to eat nearby which are good if a bit pricey (upmarket area). Pleasant half hour walk to the night markets or B80 tuk tuk. We'd definitely stay here again. Oh, and 2 nice cats too!
A lovley hotel. Some of the nicest staff we've met anywhere we've stayed. Huge big buffet breakfast. The location is perfect, just a street away from the Ancient Town (the map on hostelworld shows it in the wrong place). Obviously there are cheaper options but this offers excellent value for money.
Great hostel. Lovely people, lovely atmospherr, good breakfast, comfy beds etc etc. But, two dorm beds are the same price as a double en suite at other guesthouses locally that aren't on hostelworld.
Really nice staff. Sociable atmosphere. Very top end of Candelaria (location could be better). Overall a nice hostel.
Nice hostel with good value private en suite rooms as one option. Great breakfasts. Really ckean. Nice staff.

What all great hostels should have: lovely staff, great breakfast, communal dinners, proper coffee, honesty beer fridge, cat and dogs, nice clean rooms, beautiful gardens. One od the very best.
Excellent hostel. Got everything you need.
Really nice staff. More like small hotel than a hostel. Daily room cleaning is great! Not really any communal space though. Our room didn't have any external windows.
A hostel that's added on to a bar. Cheap rooms but doesn't feel much like a hostel. Not a bad option here where things are generally overpriced. No real complaints but no great shakes either. Nice people.
The most lovely staff. So kind with loads of attention to detail (e.g. our bags were waiting for us in our room when we returned from our trip to the islands). Excellent breakfast - eggs, avocado, ham, bananas, juice, cereal, yoghurt etc. Cable TV in rooms. A lovely little hotel. Would definitely recommend.
A nice little hotel. Very nice staff who are happy to help. Fairly hot showers. Up a bit of a hill on the main strip.
Great breakfast. Really pretty hostel with lovely murals. Bit more of a hotel really. All very nice for a quiet stay.
Party hostel and it does what it says on the tin.
All generally good. Not much atmosphere though. Communal space not very conducive to meeting others. Really nice building with big rooms, high ceilings etc. All very clean. Full bag lockers. Nice staff.
This is a lovely little place to stay. The nicest staff and a great communal feeling. Very intimate and cosy. Lovely outside space. Food cooked each evening over an open fire. Great empanadas! We were just popping in for one night to see the ruins and ended up staying 3 nights as it was such a nice place.
Really lovely family run hostel. Great communal breakfast around the table each morning. Comfy and clean. Really helpful. Round the corner from the bus stop to the falls and to Argentina. We paid R$20 for a taxi from the bus terminal but think it should have only been R$10 or R$15. Diego is a great cook. Eat there if he offers!
Security: Large lockers, gate with a buzzer Location: right opposite the metro. Short walk to Copacabana Staff: friendly but just people working for a big chain of hostels so different to staying somewhere family run etc Atmosphere: not much space for the number of people. No real outside space. No chilling space. You´re either in the kitchen or the bar. Value for money: you´re paying for the location. Facilities: good breakfast, small bathrooms, 2 computers with internet, kitchen ok
Great place to stay. The owner is lovely and knows just the right balance of being welcoming while giving you space. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the Old Town. Be warned that there is no sign outside to show that you are in the right place - we made our own way and thought we were in the wrong place! Couldn't get through on the mobile numbers given either. We found the flat on the top floor though. A real find, great place to explore Dubrovnik from.
A lovely little hostel with super nice staff. It was just a shame that there were only two other guests staying there when I was (although it was off season)
This hostel has a great atmosphere. The staff are lovely and it's really relaxed and social. Some people have ended up staying for weeks at a time! Great communal space, free internet, free breakfast, beet - all good. It's in a nice location but Guadalajara is really big and it's about an hours walk to the very centre if you want to go see the Cathedral etc.
Just off the Zocalo, this hostel is in a great location. When I stayed it had only been open a week but it was already a looking great. It's in a beautiful old building with high ceilings and big windows with little balconies. Everything is really nice and clean with almost monsoon-style showers in the bathroom. The staff are lovely and all speak English. There's free internet and free breakfast in the attached restaurant. The one big thing that's missng is a bar or a lounge.
