About 5-10 minutes walk to the Elephant & Castle underground station and many buses stopping right next door. Some shops and eateries around, too. Air in the rooms was a bit hot and stuffy, but the place was generally not very noisy.
Stayed there one night only, unfortunately, but experienced very friendly and helpful staff, speaking very good english, and a relatively spacious and comfortable room. Not much to see and do in Huangshan city itself except for the Laojie old street, on which the hostel is centrally located. Staff can explain how to easily take a bus to the bus and train stations, for trips to the villages, the mountain or elsewhere. Good base for exploring!
A nice place! Not central but very close to a metro station, so you can reach the centre within 10-15 minutes. It's in a plain residential house and has a cozy common room and kitchen which makes it feel very homey, like a nice shared flat. Staff is very friendly. I have no complaints at all and would definitely stay again!
The hostel is huge, and therefore anonymous and not personal, but the rooms are big and staff is helpful. They gave us beds in a 6bed dorm when the 8beds were fully booked, and even managed to put most of our friends who booked seperately into the same room. Breakfast is good and plenty, but there are school groups, avoid the crowds by eating at e.g. 9:20 instead of 9. They clean the rooms everyday and even prepare the beds. Location is right next to U-Bahn Mohrenstrasse. Would stay again!
