Ok, we dropped the ball in planning our New York trip and this was the cheapest thing available when we got round to booking. Didn't read any reviews, just went with it and thought we had done pretty well getting a 2 bed dorm to ourselves-we're a party of 2 so it was basically a private room right? Wrong. The walls at this hostel stop about a foor before they hit the ceiling so even though we had our own room we never got a full nights sleep because of noise from other guests. Huge common room.
Room was actually hotter than the sun! One fan but didn't do enough to cool the whole space. Lockers provided. Good common room and kitchen, TV, vending machines, fridges and dedicated beer fridge. Right on the beach though our room had a view of the neighbouring bruck wall. Staff were full of info-even google and printed bus timetables for us.
Stayed in the 24 bed dorm-for such a big room still felt cosy and was pretty quiet considering the amount of people in it. Location is unbeatable for the nearby sites. We never used the breakfast vouchers as we were out very early each morning of our stay-would have been good if we could have used it to get the same meal at another time of day as a snack. Laundry facility was great and cheap. Think price is high for a simple bed in such a big room but I thin that's a San Fran thing.
Stayed in 6 bed dorm, good sized room with lockers big enough to fit a wholke backpack at a squeeze. Great shared kitchen and lounge but only one bathroom on ground floor-it's a nice bathroom but lot of people sharing so be prepared to wait (or try your luck upstairs). Laundry available at $5 which is more expensive than a lot of other places. Ground floor window on roadside so some wehicle noise-especially when they're parking up-but not noisy enough to be put off.
Very nice apartment in the old town, really clean and a nice little kitchen and balcony. No directions on here so to assist anyone who is booking it; from the boat drop off head left following the town walls, past two towers and right up Ulitsa Depolo looking out for The Croatian House souvenir shop.
When we arrived from the boat we rang and were collected by the landlady's uncle. From the apartment it's about a 10/15 minute stroll into the town either along the road or the beatiful waterfront. Our room had TV and balcony and a kitchen which is shared with a few others. Was very clean and comfortable and a great orange and brown 70's bathroom.
Room was in a really nice location although the staff didn't tell us ahead of arriving that their office had moved but it was easy enough to find. Double bed was two singles pushed together but that was the only disappointment in an otherwise perfectly nice room and very clean, modern bathroom. Mexican bar and restuarant just opposite-good for picky vegetarians companions!
really nice bar are, no outside food or drink sucks a bit, loads of nice eating places just outside
Really good location (once our taxi driver managed to find it, don\'t bother with taxis in China!) just off People\'s Square. My sister and I had to be put in separate rooms due to an overbooking which was the only bad point but the staff were really nice about it, it was partially our fault as we turned up quite late so they\'d already let our beds go.
Had a brilliant time at this hostel. Bit out of town but easy enough to get to by subway. Some great restuarants and bars nearby and a nice little fridge and kitchen facility if you were staying longer term.
A rqally nice place to start my trip, a good first impression of china. I'll be back in 5 weeks when I'm on my way home and it will be a nice place to finish too.
