A good solid all-round hostel. I have stayed in both the double-bed private and the dorms, both rooms seemed nice and clean. I thought the light free-meals in bar in the evening was a nice touch. The major plus is the location, it's right smack in the middle of Wellington CBD.

This is one of the best hostels I've stayed at, and certainly the most 'traveller friendly'. Heaps of space, big common-areas (cinema, bar, chill-out room, kitchen), All the facilities and a really laid back atmosphere. Late check-out and fast, free wi-fi every-where. What more could you ask for? Some cute staff at the reception. I guess the only minor quibbles are the location (not totally ideal) and perhaps the building needs a bit of a touch up. But I am still here on an extended stay..

A nice cosy hostel tucked away behind a yellow door. Warm beds, clean, good facilities, friendly staff, only down-side was the location, 3 nearby night-clubs, music at night could be loud, but didn't bother me that much. Any way, staff get 100% for being slightly hot ;) So of course I would stay here again when in Oxford.

I stayed in one of the single rooms for several nights, and thought it was excellent value of money. I liked the desks in the rooms. The place is a little outside central Paris, but very big, secure and clean, suitable for longer term stays of several weeks. I saw a lot of students there and people on exchange programs... a rather odd atmosphere to the place it must be said.

A very clean and cosy hostel, quite small, but good facilities (wi-fi, en-suite rooms, kitchen). Overall, excellent value for money. Interesting Belleville location.

Excellent dorm rooms, very clean and big, reading lights, curtains, plugs and lockers for all beds. Bathrooms not so good, rather dirty. Great downstairs bar and computer room, free wifi, works even in the rooms, although sometimes very slow. The bar is probably the best feature of the hostel, with good food and drink always available. The location is a bit dodgy, not a good area, although the canal is cool.

This hostel is excellent value for money; top facilities including excellent bar and downstairs seating area, lots of character and atmosphere; clean warm rooms with each bed having reading light, curtain and plugs (the new gold standard for hostels?) Further out from central London, but that's not a problem with the tube station nearby and because it's not in the center of London it's cheaper.

Great hostel, possibly the best I've stayed in in Sydney. Ultra-modern and clean, big and roomy with great common areas - loved the rooftop patio. Air conditioning in the rooms. Friendly staff. Cool and laid back vibe, perfect location. Slight downsides: sound carries a bit in the corridors at night, and there were no lockers in my room (security issue). But overall, highly recommended.

This has to be one my favourite hostels, a mansion right in the heart of Kings Cross. Nice and roomy, with big outdoor courtyard and TV room, really has a great atmosphere, and is suitable for long-term stays. There were no lockers in my room though, so that is a security negative.

A cosy hostel, clean and well maintained. The common areas are too small and the rooms rather cramped, but the basics are all done very well (all the right facilities are there), making it fine for short-term stays. Great location, right in the heart of the exciting Kings Cross.

Urban Central

Very big 5 floors), clean and modern building, great facilities, themed areas (TV, library, study) [Although they are placed right in front lifts in open corridor] The en suite rooms are excellent; Other rooms not so good, especially noisy rooms on the first floor. Good bar downstairs. Free wi-fi from McDonalds. Good location, tram close and the city center is only a 20 minute walk. Lacks a bit of character and a bit rowdy at times (not totally secure) - but a winner from great facilities.

Very clean hostel, nice big and comfortable rooms, dining room, kitchens, TV room clean and cosy. Reasonable location, not far from botanic gardens and easy tram ride or walk into city center. No free internet. Staff not terribly helpful. Slightly ununsual in that it seemed to cater to older travelers.

Argyle Backpackers

A small but very nice hostel, with a lot of character - has kitchens and lounge for guest use, free wi-fi in rooms. Quiet and cosy place, more like having your own a flat, long-term rates can be negotiated with the manager. A couple of minor gripes - no self-service laundry and slightly out of the center of town, but overall highly recommeded.

Globetrotter Inn London

A very big hostel, well equipped, and clean, large dining room, kitchens, TV rooms shops etc. Very secure (security guards, gates, swipe cards always worked, and you could put credit on to buy things). The curtains on the beds and reading lights were excellent ideas. Some of the guests seemed eccentric - there were so-called long-termers coming in and out of each others' rooms at night. Charging for wi-fi when many hostels in London now offer it for free was very irritating.

Rooms were very clean and warm. Good location, not far from Southbank attractions.
